I saw a add in Car and Driver of a blue Mustang with 20inch rims and it had BF Goodrich tires on it but I wasn't sure what the tire size was on them, I have a idea but I just want to make sure. Thanks Kevin

If the same diameter would be kept from factory then
255/35/20
Way too skinny for my taste

That's about right. Seriously, I was talking to a guy last week with 20s on his G35 infiniti, and he was running something like a 305/ 25 R20 It was essentially a rubber band. One pothole and the tire and rim are worthless.

That ad was photochopped -- look at the front calipers, they are in the wrong location. Plus the lighting is to identical. So, you never know what the tire sizes were, or if they even make them to fit the Mustang.

I wouldn't worry about getting the same OD as stock tires -- it would be better not to go too small on the sidewall. Saleen uses Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires 275/35ZR20 front and 275/40ZR20 rear, and they look to have plenty of sidewall and fit the wells very nicely. Very nice look.

If he doesn't go with the same OD his speedometer will give an incorrect reading. How does one go about getting it recalibrated?

I think they are 20 inch tires also.

I was under the impression that the speedo would recalibrate itself w/o a speedo gear swap. Of course, I could be wrong and I brought this up in another thread, but I didn't get an answer on it.... but I thought I read that somewhere.

but if it doesn't recallibrate itself, then, yeah.... a gear swap. I'm sure Saleen will have it if they're wrappin' the car in 20s. I remember, I had a helluva time finding the right gear for my '98 when I swapped the rear end to 3.73s
