Well, I took my car in today to get the radio fixed .... and I was told they have to take the whole front console apart to get it out.

Was this true for those of you that have replaced the radio?

So its there overnight. They also said they might jsut ship the radio to Ford and have them fix it rather than order a new one ...

Also, in other news, my dealer has sequential turn signal packages ... they installed one in a v6. I looked at it, it was very neat. Sorry, no camera, or I woulda taken a video ... but it was cool.

Only bad thing, i think, was when you brake, they come one once as sequential, then go solid.

But please, respond with answer to the shaker question if ya got an answer B)

I have not bothered bring my radio in to get fixed yet. On another note, I have installed my sequential kit this week and have a work around for the brakes not working properly, it all depends on the kit they have.

DJ,

I called my dealer and told them to get a new radio in. I was not going to go around with a hole in the console.

Now, mind you that was 4 weeks ago, and a new radio has not come in. But, I am going with the kenwood radio as a replacement unit, in any case. I planned on going satellite, anyway, wanted a clean look and have little faith in this being resolved in the near future.

I will want the 500 head unit to turn the car back to stock, or to sell.

I believe some forum members have had their units replaced, and have had continued problems.

My dealer ordered a new shaker 1000 for me no questions asked. I get to keep my car and the old radio stays put until new one arrives. Bad news 4-6 weeks for the new one to be delivered.

I have posted on the last page the fix for connecting the wires to the SJB so the brakes work normal...that is as long as your kit is from the same manufacturer.

Yep, its true. I saw my car halfway thru my custom stereo installation and to get to the center console where the radio is housed, you basically have to take the whole dash apart. The installer showed me how it was built and you really dont have any choice. Don't worry though, as long as the pieces aren't scratched when they are being removed or put back together, its no sweat. You won't even know it was done.

Actually, I will be getting a new factory radio tomorrow. It was ordered today, and it was found in a store on the West side of Cleveland.

Apparantly, they heard about the problems with the Shakers a while ago, and had one on order from Ford a while ago. It came into their store yesterday morning, and they sold it within an hour to my dealership.

So I win!

So, I put in 2 cds. I lsiten to a few songs off the first CD. Then, I go to switch to the 2nd CD and what happens? "CD ERROR"

I cannot load or eject the CDs in there. It doesnt sound like its jammed, but somethings wrong.

This is ridiculous.

All these problems with the Shaker systems are telling me to be very happy with the standard stereo. Besides, eventually I'm going to put my Infinity's in.

That would be a good idea.

Even though this new CD broke and unbroke somehow ... im holding my breath.

If I coulda afford a new head unit, Id get it ...

If the factory ones keep breaking, Ford can buy me a nice new headunit.
