What color stripes should I get??
I have a torch red stang and I'm having stripes put on on the 20th of this month. I'm trying to decide if I want white or silver. Does anyone have pics of torch red stangs with silver stripes?
If you want to be different, you'd ghost stripe them in a slightly darker or lighter shade of red... with flaming edges. But that'd be me being different.
The color of the stripe should be attempted to match/complement the interior. Therefore, a silver stripe with the tan interior would be silly looking, IMO, and the Gold is the way to go.
Black interior can use any stripe, although I'd go black stripe with that. Gray interior would get silver, with maybe white.
Really, honestly, the only interior that I think would work with the white stripe is the red leather insides. Even then, the amount of black is counter to the white stripes...
It's your car, though, you need to do what you want. It'll look great whatever you choose, I bet!

I wouldn't do any other shades of red unless it was very, very subtle, like a shadow/ghost stripe. Too much contrast (going darker or lighter), and you risk one of them coming out looking pinkish.
I say be different and do something like a warm/Mineral gray (though a bit lighter than Ford's '05 color). Would go well with the red (both warm colors), wouldn't be quite so in-your-face as the white, yet would be enough of a contrast to be noticeable. It would also go well with a tan interior while not looking like a fast food restaurant. You would have to work with a painter to get swatches to find the right shade, but it would be worth in IMHO, and you would have something unique.
Though, between silver and white, I would go with white. It looks cleaner and the metallic silver can make the red look a bit flat in comparison (if there is a high metallic content to the silver).
Look at TacoBill's car for red/white stripes.

well, personally, ever since the gt500s came out, i wouldn't put double stripes on my car's hood. if i had a red car, i would maybe do a partial black-out. something like this:

if i had to choose between silver or white stripes, however, i would go silver. it is less common.

You can't go wrong with white or silver, but I actually like gold on red too -
Something else to consider:
Here is Sixty-Six's car, Redfire with gold. I like this combo.

And Torch Red with gold - flamin ponyexpress' car -

I like white the best.
always match metallic paint with metallic stripes and plain gloss paint with plain gloss stripes. It just looks better that way. If you want to go metallic striped on normal gloss paint, pick something with less deep luster. Something along the lines of Satin Silver as opposed to something like Vapor or Tungsten which are very shiny, metallic paints. If theres too much of a difference, it just won't look right.
