Excellent write-up and photos. I got my Webelectric Sequentials in yesterday, and installed them in no time thanks to your excellent photos and everybodies tips. The black putty that seals the studs was very easy to reuse. I just caught it all when I took the nuts off, then just like plumbers putty, rolled it up in a ball, and then made it into a snake, and then put it back around the studs for the reinstall. As I torqued down the nuts, the putty squeezed out just like it did during the factory install. Thanks again for a great write-up on how to install the sequentials!

 

What are those red plastic pry handles that are seen in the photos to get the bulbs out? Are those needed? If so, where would one find them? Thanks.

 

You don't need them, anything will work. I just used a small flat screwdriver and was careful not to scratch anything. I only needed the little screwdriver to pop the bulbs up to pull them out, everything else came apart by just rotating and pulling.

 

yeah just do not get a giant shop screw driver to do the job just get something that can pry them up if they are sticking...i messed with my old V6's taillights and i just got a small flat head screw driver and pryed gently and they popped out

Yeah, those plastic things were just wedged scrapers. Like others mentioned, anything will work if you need to pry those bulbs out.

 

my wife just got her new 2006 gt convertible and the first thing that went on the car were the sequential turn signals and the pony grill from webelectric products. i think it took all of 25 minutes to do both.

Is there a torque value for the nuts on the lens assembly studs? I assume you don't want to tighten them too much otherwise the studs could be pulled out of the lens assembly.

 

I'm sure there is, but I don't know it. I just snugged mines up til they felt somewhat tight.

Just take notice how tight they are as you dissasemble it.

 

My sequentials go out in the mail today so I looked up the shop manual page for doing this work, the nuts are to be torqued to 53 lb-in.

Hey, I got mine installed tonight. Very cool! I checked out all the functions and they seem to work as advertised.

One question: I checked the backup lights and I only have one on the passenger side. Are both supposed to light up? I forgot to check that before I changed them out.

 

Supposed to have 2 back-up lights, 1 each side.

It's that lower 4th socket. Check to make sure that bulb is engaged into the socket and test before installing the light lens assembly.
