Are the Super 40's the mufflers that come in their new '05 kit?
Flowmaster 2005 Mustang kit
I LOVE the sound of that new kit they have on their website!
How much were they? (w/o labor)

Here's the pic from that link. Just looks like a set of Super 40's with tips and inlet pipes to me.
hey dustindu, i think your mistaken you might want to check numbers first....Your first chance to know what your talking about. Flowmaster actually built the system to be more friendly with consumers AKA magnaflow type setups. In addition, on further review they are the exact same mufflers as on the kit (Flowmaster Customer Service call 1-800-544-47610) I just did it myself because I know how. So in short talk about what you know, not what you think.
Thanks, Robert. That's what I thought. I can't see spending $450 for that kit. I was quoted $70 each for the mufflers. I figure less than $100 for tips and about $40 for the inlet pipes. That kit is WAY overpriced.
Post a sound clip if you can. The clip on Flowmaster's website is the best I've heard so far, but I don't trust it since it's THEIR product. I have a feeling there's more than just aftermarket mufflers under the car in their clip.

Speaking of which, I removed my cool sounding, nice looking Flowmaster axle-back because it cost me 2-3hp.

Flowmaster is designing a new muffler from scratch for this vehicle. Their existing Super40's and Delta40's do not "cut it" with respect to sound quality in their opinion. As it turns out, the "off the shelf" Super40 flowed WORSE than the stock exhaust, cost me a couple of lb-ft across the entire RPM range.

Just the clear things up a bit, the 2005 Mustang GT Flowmaster setup makes use of their American Thunder system.

As far as I know this is different than the ones which do not have any gains. This system was designed specifically for the 2005 and according to Flowmaster, Through our testing of these mufflers have shown noticeable horsepower and torque gain. (not quite gramatically correct but aparently there is a gain in power)
P.S. I have these on order
