Vinyl stripe question

I'm thinking about getting a vinyl super stripe for my hood in matt black. My question is - how easy are they to install? Can a complete amateur do it themselves (like me!) or should I take it to a shop. If so, how much should it be for just the hood decal? Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

I had never done stripes before, and did the Superstripe. I aint gonna lie, the hood is the most difficult piece to install with the Superstripe. 18 inch wide, one piece stripe, going over several compound angles. It is not a walk it the park. However, with a pair of extra hands to peel the decal, lots of wetting fluid, and a buttload of patience, it is do-able. There is no need to rush when installing. It will stay wet as long as you want it to...
Hood only should be about 50 or 60 bucks with the pinstripes....Talk to Rob over at Baltimore Street Mods....

Yeah, I think I might just take it to a shop to get it done. Would a good window tinting shop be able to put the decal on? How much do you think it should be for the install? Any shop reccommendations in the Atlanta area?

xpinoy,

I really like that wider version of the super stripe. If you don't mind my asking, where did you get your stripe version?
Thanks,
Mark

i experimented with stripe combo/style thru below site. the dimensions, i got from a graphic/decal website . i cant remember the name right now, they were actually selling the precut version but i did not have the gonads to diy. so i went to a vinyl shop. the wide stripe is 22" and the sides are 2", gap between is 1"

xpinoy,
Thanks for your help...and the link also.
BTW, every time I think about doing some stripes myself my gonads seem to disappear too....
