I went to a place earlier today and was quoted about 150 for two white 10" with a 1" gap vinyl stripes. Does this seem a little too cheap and should I find a place who might do better quality work? I saw a dodge stealth that they did and it looked decent though.

I paid $460 for my stripes. That does seem cheap to me, but if you've seen their work and it's what you want, go for it.

$150 is too cheap IMO. Even if they do great work, the quality of vinyl may be bad, which is why they can charge so little.

I paid 600 for bumber to bumber 10" stripes. Sounds cheap to me as well. But I say as long as they offer a good warranty (mine was 5 years) and use decent vinyl, (just a guess from what I've read but 3M or Avery) and do a good job you should be ok. Ask them about the vinyl they use and the warranty they offer?

Sounds quite cheap to me too!
Have a look at http://www.bobwhitedecals.com/Products/2005/05SS10.htm for some 3M decals with pricing - delivered, not installed!

That does sound extremely cheap. Do you know what kind of vinyl they are using? Are you using metallic or gloss? Find out if it is 2 mil automotive grade vinyl. For that price it sounds like they are using 3 mil calendared vinyl which should not be used on a vehicle, well, unless you don't mind having it crack and peel within the first 2 years.

Even though you don't really say it, I assume the price is installed???? That seems awful low for an installed price. Are they doing the bumpers?

I guarantee they are using 3 mil vinyl. That stuff is cheap. I know because I bought enough of it to stripe my entire car for like thirty bucks. I used the cheap stuff because the vinyl for me was temporary... just 6 months or so. But if you want to keep your vinyl for a few years or more, don't let them use it.
