I had a small emergency Sunday-

My kid puked in my car, and made me puke out the window when it hit me.

I was in Desperate times, so I took her through the carwash for the first(and only) time. I was also in a hurry because I was going to Orlando shortly. When you are covered in vomit, and have just done the same, you aren't thinking clearly. also the side of the car was streaked with it.

In any case, I got almost to Florida, and got out at a rest stop. This is what I saw...

I thought someone stole it. Nearly ruined my trip.

So I get back into town and called the Ford Dealer. Picked up a new Spinner for $30 Cursing all the way.

Last night Brian decides to go to the carwash, He said someone couldn't be that dirty at Christmas time- this is what he found:

Its bent to hades and my Rim is scratched deeply. The new spinner covers SOME of the damage... but.

When kids puke like that, a mom will puke and a wheel is sure to puke its spinner. Does your spinner have a set screw and if so, check it when you check your tire pressure.

I guess I am trying to figure out why this is in the issues section. You washed the car where they used brushes (my guess) and it ripped one of the spinners off. We all know how easily the spinners can be removed from the car. Not sure if this is a Factory issue....

Anyway, I guess you will be handwashing it from now on huh?

Up here in Michigan we have brushless car washes. Just a kick hiney power spray. Does a fine job to[when everything is working right].

Order a set of metal ones from BRS. They are great, and bolt on also.

You know, I hate to make observations when you are feeling poorly about all this, but I have to admit the funniest scene that I have ever seen on Family Guy is when they all compete to see who gets the last piece of pie by simultaneously downing ENTIRE BOTTLES of Ipecac. As I recall, the dog is named Brian, right? That isn't the same Brian you mention in your note, is it? Is that the same Brian in your Avitar? Anyway, it really did turn into a puke-fest, and I thought I would die laughing. Here is the clip:

Brian: Never let Peter hold your ears!
I hope you get your wheels fixed quickly.
Get well soon,
Brian (not the dog).

I had a spinner pop off, I believe I caught a curb a little too close and when I drove over it the spinner was lost.. At least that's what I figure happened, as the events seems to make sense time-wise. Unfortunately my dealer did not have the Ford spinners, so I got a 4-pack of the pony spinners.

Its here because I figured it would get moved up here anyhow- since it is an issue- the freaking thing spun right off.

I just bought another one and popped it on. Now she is whole again. Stupid carwash- Brian said my spinner wasn't the only thing in there that had been ripped off. If I was not in a spot- covered in puke and all, I would have never done it. I hand wash and dry her only but was on the road this time.

Gearhead- Brian is my husband. AND the dog over there <-- because his name is Brian too. Brian has a high tolerance for puke cause we all have a stomach bug right now and the house (and Eleanor) smell like the back alley of an irish pub.

It is more an issue with the car wash than it is with the spinner. My in-laws drove their car through one of those car washes and it ripped the cowel cover right off of the hood.

Feel free to put it where it needs to be then.

I mainly wanted to know if my car was the only one to have this happen to. It wasn't touchless- it was one with the spinning things on it. In hindsight I should have lived with the vomit- but I thougt it may have gotten to the paint.

I got my spinners from BMR and they have an allen head set screw behind the spinner. Unless you had that little wrench with you, you can't get the spinner off. It will spin by hand but not freely. But you can't spin it off without that wrench.
