V6 + GT + Saleen hybrid :)

2005 V6 Mustang - Premium package

Modifcations done:

- replaced tires/rims with stock GT tires/rims
- added tri-bar pony emblems (stock OEM from '06 model)
- added OEM Saleen panel stripes

That's all I'm planning to do for now. Maybe one day when they come up with a quality GT grille conversion kit I'll slap that on.

Alright, let me have it guys...what do you think?

i like what you have done so far. imo, the next thing you should do is to get your windows tinted.

riiiiiiiiggghhhttt.........there are alot of things that are rice that people do to these cars.....but i dont see anything on his car that would constitute that. I like what you've done. those wheels look better on the v6 than the do on the v8 cause of the stance. side stripes are ok (not really my style) but it looks clean, and i too have the pony badges on my 06 gt....

And as another side note......putting a gt grill on this car is not like putting an si badge on a regular civic. The grill is just a grill with fog lights. Putting gt emblems on it would be like putting si badges on a regular civic. which he hasnt done. on top of all that these comments are coming from a guy with a 93z so lets fix the rice your rolling around in before coming down on others k .........

Anyway.....9.enjoy your car and keep up the mods........though keep in mind my opinion (and defence of you for that matter) will change drastically the day gt emblems get put on the car. =)

Good Lord!! I thought these kind of post were a thing of the past..

Now to a point, I somewhat agree with this guys point.. I would never add anything that remotley resembles a GT on my blown V6.. It would degrade it..

However, I dont see a reason why this particular guys car cant be to his taste.. I hate GT foglights and the ugly rear bumper.. They just dont do it for me..

However, many GT owners seem to think their bumpers are ok.. No problem.. LOL!!

thanks

Thanks to everyone for their opinions, both the good and the bad. For the record, I'm definitely not trying to make mine look like a GT, just unique...which I think is a goal for many Mustang owners.

Adding a GT grille (really I just like the fog lights) is just a thought at the moment, not something I plan to pursue. In fact, I might argue the V6 grille looks better, especially at night. The darn thing looks "mean". In a good way of course.

Keep up the posts and the mods...can't wait to see what you've all done with your Stangs. Later.

it's your car, do what you want...I think your mods are tasteful and well thought out.

I kinda feel the same way about the grille at night...but I just cant get over how good my GT grill looks during the daytime...

hey chengjr, instead of the gt grille, have you considered the shelby cs6 grille with the piaa fogs? then you could put the running horse logo in the center instead of buying the "shelby" lettering. imo, it may look better than putting a gt type grille on. just a thought.

I had not thought of that, but it's a great idea.

Nice looking V6, man! May I ask what you spend on the wheels & tires? I think the standard V6 wheels are just too small and the GT rims might be a nice addition without spending 2-3k...

Thanks for the feedback guys. It's greatly appreciated. As for the GT wheels and rims, I lucked out. A guy I work with has a GT and he swapped his out for some custom 20s. He was using the GT rims as a backup, so I asked if he wanted to swap with mine. I paid maybe $200 to even out the trade and that was it. Check out ebay. I'm sure you can find GT rims/wheels.

Tinted windows sounds like a really good idea. How much does it usually cost to do something like that?
