Here are a couple of Stangs I spotted at Sunset Ford in St. Louis. For some reason, the dealership decided to put non-functional hood scoops on their Mustangs. Haven't figured out why, but I do know that I am going there tomorrow to chew someone out for this. :notnice:

Those scoops looks bad. They look pretty far back too. I'd keep the stock hood, or maybe some functional nostrils up front, like the concept.
But, those just throw the design horrilbly off. :notnice:

I think that it would look better if the scoops were farther up the hood. They look to far back.

Didn't get out to look at the price. I did notice that they put them on 3 of the 5 Stangs they have in stock. And I always thought I would get angry if they put pinstripes on an otherwise perfect car that I wanted. I don't know the words I would use to describe this. Luckily I don't have the cash just yet.

I can't tell how far back/forward they are mounted from the frontal photo. A side view would tell more, and since this is a long hood, I think the object would be to have it directly above the motor regardless of whether it's functional or not.......unless there are alot of unsuspecting souls out there that don't know where the engine position is in this car.....Duhhhhhhhh.

Maybe its just me but I am wondering why a dealer with a "hot" new model they can't keep on the lot and are making $$$$ on would do this

me no like dos scoops.

In other words, they look like crap. Need to be moved a bit closer to the front of the car. I understand why they did it. If you look under the hood (and removed the cover) you will see an area where a scoop can be installed. A bit far back if you ask me.

Too far back? What - if it's fake (i know it is) it is really there
just for looks. It does no more or less than stripes. The only
real rant is let the customer ruin the look of the Mustang if so
desired. :bang: Again, let the consumer work on the blank slate.

You've all seen beautiful stripe jobs but we certainly haven't
found a consensus hood scoop winner yet.

I like the hoods with the double scoop like the concept also. Similar to the look of a 67 Shelby.

I've often thought the 05 should have a scoop of some sort to break up the flat hood - just not like this!!

My point exactly. Besides, I didn't know dealers added this kind of thing. I'll see if I can get better pictures.

you know, they arent thaaat bad. they just need a good shove forward, i think that would look nice. with some le mans stripes it would look great as a '66 GT350 kind of look. but hey, thats just me.

and i still want a freaking concept hood or Ram air hood ala 1971 mach 1

I would expect a bigger discount from them for botching up a perfectly good hood. :nono:
