I want to place a sub box in the trunk of my stang when i get it.

I looked at one at the dealership and it seemed that right at the back of the trunk where i would put the box was uneven.

For anyone who has put a box in the trunk, does your box sit unevenly, or was there something you did to make it even?

Let us know if you figure out a way to put in those subs. I had those in my 01-ported box, don't know what size. If there is a way to get those in without compromising too much trunk space I would like to have my jam back!

I have a GT premium with 2 kenwood 10" tornados. I Built my own boxes for them, what i did was i made 2 1x1x1.5, to get the volume correct when the subs were in the box, then i but one box in each back corner of the trunk. Dont worry about getting a ported box, the trunk is small enough and the trunk hatch is thick enough that you get great sound without the port. Save yourself the money and build the box/boxes yourself, all you need is fiberboard.

For me they were great. Not exactly what I had in mind when I said "Honey, we need to replace the speakers...."

Now, I don't claim to know anything about car audio, I picked everything out based on how it looked-pretty speakers (the outer ring is a pretty color), cool head unit with pretty colors and graphics that looked like one of those old arcade racing games. But, when it was all put together it sounded awesome; we received plenty of compliments on it.

Do you really need two 12"s in a car this small? That's a little overkill. I'd be happy with one clean 10" or two 8"s... *shrug*

yes, I do REALLY NEED dual 12"s. I want bass that sounds good (read: High SQ), is tight, not boomy, and most importantly, THAT YOU CAN FEEL! (read: high SPL).

and no, I dont listen to rap. EVER.

Classic Rock till I die!!, but I want it loud, heavy, and pounding. I want to pull up next to a ricer rapper, and be able to crank mine louder than his, drown him out with some AC DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, etc.

Not to mention, you have a better sound w/ a 12. Less punch, more boom. Besides, 2 12's in a Town Car isn't going to sound softer than it will in a "small" Mustang.

As I have said before, as soon as my car comes, I will post detailed pix and vids of everything I do, because I have a great camera, and a ton of space to host videos.

yea i love the tornados, that have a perfect peak power... i have one 1000 amp running the two subs and a 600 watt amp powering the cockpit speakers. Everything sounds great, you will be pleased.

Just do the one thing that alot of people dont and they dont get the full effect of the subs. Run them at a low volume for atleast 10 hours... once installed dont go blasting them. Give them time to stretch. I promise you you will get a deeper sound and theyh will last longer...
