Doogie, do you mean the one that goes on the GT500 front end with the recessed hoop pin recesses? If thats the case, they are available now, you just need to call phil at trufiber and see what he has available. I talked to him around the end of October and he said they had 15-20 of them in the shop, some primered, some not. Very possible that the amounts may have changed since then, but I would call immediately. This is the number for phil at Trufiber. (714)451-1444

Let everyone know what he says if you get any info please.

Phil,

I am the guy who bought Robbie Robertson's Venom hood. I called and spoke with you at the end of October before I picked up the hood I purchased asking about the hood pins to use with it on my Mustang. I did get the ones you suggested (the ones I have are exactly like the ones shown in this thread but shown with the GTS-3 style hood) but the ones I purchased did not come with any sort of metal bracket (there weren't any offered at the time I got mine). I saw this thread and went back to that same website and it shows they sell the brackets seperately now. Can you tell me, could those same brackets shown above be used unmodified to attach the Venom hood as well or any of the other brackets on the site? I had planned on making some 'custom' ones, but if one of the brackets could be used from this site, I would like to know it is an option.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Andretti

that's kinda nice it'd be so cool to have like some site do with car colors, is to have it on a car select a color and that's what it would look like ! I bet that would gain more interest with it .

There is: http://www.ponybuilder.com/home.html

Now, the last time I checked the Trufiber hood wasnt on it, but alot of aftermarket mods are.

Andretti, You are going to have to do some mods with those brackets since they weren't design for the S197.

I thought this was the case but I wanted to be sure. Thanks for the confirmation so quickly.

Good question. I read long ago that most of the fiberglass hoods weigh more than the stock aluminum hood.

I do like the look of this though.

Since it is primed already, does that mean all the prep work is done on the hood and it is ready to paint? That would be great if it is.

that probably means there is minimal prep to do. for example, you still have to make sure there is no oil from peoples hands from touching the hoods, also gotta make sure that primer is perfect.

Anyone know which pins DO work for this new hood? I'm thinking about swapping my stock hood out finally, and this would be SWEET!
