A question for the tire expert
What is the fattest size tire you can put on the stock 17" wheels?

Peace

I would go with 255/50-17. the recommended rim width is 7-9". it should be perfect. It is very close to the same overall diameter also.

That is awesome. It will definately help me in my tire decision. Now just to find out what is the biggest (width) that will fit without rubbing the fenders.

I know you can fit 295's on the 2004 model. Oh well, I think I will end up waiting until the spring to see exactly what fits.

I'm sure many people on here will have new wheel and tire setups by Jan/Feb so you'll get a good idea how everything fits and looks.

I'm really looking forward to people posting pics up so I can decide what I want to do.

can't say that the quarter mile calculator had extremely good things to say about the '05 given' it's heavy weight... 4550lbs
anybody know if Z28s are high in carbs? I'm going to put my GT on the Atkins diet...... but I plan to be eating Z28s on a regular basis.

'scuse me if this is an idiotic question: what about fitting different sizes?

I was thinking something more modest, the stock 235/55 front and wider 255's back. does that make any sense at all?

also, do you know if it ships with all-round tires as standard? those are not allowed over here, it's summer and winter tires only. b'sides, they have lower performance than regular summer radials anyway

I was wondering too. I think those are 20'' BBS wheels but I might be wrong. I think the '05 looks terrific on these even if I generally prefer wheels with a more classic look.

I didn't thought you could go as far as 20'' wheels on the '05. Is that too much? COuld it actually affect the car handling? Also as anyone considered going with different wheels size for the back and the front? Like 19'' at the back and 18 or 17 at the front?

I am not sure they are BBS, because in the center of the rim it has a longer name than three letters. However, I could be wrong. I have to agree that I think the 20's look good, but they are almost too big. I think 19's would look a lot better and give you more room up front in the way of clearance.

BUT if anyone else has any idea of what kind of rims are on that 05 please speak up.
