hello
i have a 2005 mustang gt....all the topics ive seen on rims and tires are about going to 18s,19s or 20s...personally i dont have the money to change my rims and tires...im saying with 17s and going with the american racing fusion rim...im keeping my original tires upfront but want to go with wider tires in the back...what would be the widest tire (or size) i could use in the back...i plan on getting my new rims put on,then sell my original rims and buy my rear tires....then ill have 2 extra tires for the front..id like to stay with pirellis....thanks

The American Racing Fusion rim in 17 inch is only 7.5 inches wide, so I wouldn't go for wider then 255 on that. Now I think you can get the AR Rebel in a 17x9 size so you could put a really wide tire on that.

I'm not sure if the AR Rebel has the right offset in the 17 inch size that you want though....

The guys at a local Discount Tire told me that they had problems fitting the Fusion onto the 05 Mustang. I'm not sure if the problem was offset or what?

If you're staying with 17's, might as well go with some Halibrand "style" wheels. Someone's making them in 17's with the correct offset. I'll try to find the link.
