I am definitely going to go with bigger tires after the car arrives. It seems that the 2 most popular choices are the BF Goodrich and the Nitto tires. Anyone who has these tires like to give my any pros and cons?

I put my 255/45/18 and 285/40/18 BF Goodrich on Saturday. I will post pics as soon as I can.

I am getting the BFGoodrich gforce-TA KDW-NT's. I have used BFGoodrich in the past and always loved them, so why stop now Besides they have the sizes I want

I've always had good luck with the Bridgestone Potenza's (RE 750) IIRC. Great profile/wear dry&wet traction all at a reasonable price......my last set 245/45 ZR17's were in the neighborhood of $155.00/ea.

Used Sumo's on a circle track car. Worked great. This is a sleeper tire, & only $150 for 18".

Love my rubber!

Very stable ride at high speeds, acceptable sound off of the tires too, not too noisy.

BF Goodrich is owned by a French company .
There is a boycott on the French .

Goodyear has the most expensive tire written all over them .

Bridgestone , Yokahoma or Kumho.
I have read good things about Fuzion tires (they are made by Bridgestone)for a cheap set of street/track tires .

I'm looking for some advice from you more experienced guys. I was originally planning on putting some BF Goodrich KDW's (255/50/17) all the way around. Now I'm wondering how the car would look/ride/handle if I left the stock tires on the front and went with the KDW's just in the back. Opinions please?

Tom

edit: not trying to hijack this thread...hope it's appropriate to ask this here.

Tom, personally I would not mix tires, not only because of the looks but they will perform different as well. You should always try to stick to tires that have the same overall diameter.

Personally though, I would not like the look of it. Kinda reminds me of when you see a car that has 1 tire that does not match the rest, you think it must be a spare.

I'm running those Bridgestone Fuzions that were mentioned above....Put 275/40/17 on the rears....Great street/track tire you can grab at Firestone for a decent price....rated up to 168+ mph as well, per my buddy at Firestone.....

The Goodrich KDW's are very heavy .
275/40/17 these are to wide for the stock rims . Look at the spec page at Tire Rack.

Adrinalin - YES, If you lived in France I would boycott your posts.

Too heavy?
Never heard that debate before.
I'm not disagreeing. It's a valid point.
Where can I get the weights of the tires?

This is the second person I've seen with 275/40/17s on an 8" rim.(Wild stray is the other) I did not think this was recommended. Everything I've read indicates that 255mm is kind of the outer limit for the stock rim. What are the pros and cons of this, cause 275s certainly look better? (also not trying to highjack this thread. Just curious.)

He isn't running stock wheels, if I am not mistaken he has the 03-04 Mach 1 wheels.

I still have my BFG's on order. I have always been happy with them. Last longer and stick better than Goodyear tires.
