I've tried it both ways myself.
With it outside, it seems too bunched up in the back, and yet there doesn't seem to be quite enough room to put it under the shroud.
I am also curious how others have done it!

I did the same thing, I don't even recall if it was mentioned in the instructions, no problems on mine installed in Spring 05

I'll be putting mine in tomorrow, so I'll let you know how my line ended up.
For those who don't know... would it be possible to check? I'm really curious, too, on where the majority of people have that brake booster line.
