Those with the CDC ducktail
For those who have installed the CDC ducktail, how many here have put the third brake light in? THe instructions online seem a bit complicated and I was wondering how hard it really is? Thanks!
I installed my own. Took about 15 minutes. They suggest pulling the back trim panels, I just fished the wire down the panel and spliced right under the seat. Very easy install, took longer to make sure I was lined up centered than it did to do everything else.

I just installed the third brake light kit. It was fairly easy and the installation gives you an idea how simple it is to gut your car inside. I took my time and didn't want to screw anything up so it took me under an hour. There happens to be two tan-like wires w/ blue stripes on them if anyone noticed. The directions say to use the "Tan wire with Blue Stripe". Make sure to use the lighter thinner tan wire w/ blue stripe (I guess the thicker wire could be considered brown or dark Tan). Lastly, the directions don't tell you, but you will probably figure it out on your own, on Step 8 when you attach the Red Wire from brake light to Tan wire w/ blue stripe, make sure you cut the tan wire (it doesn't say it in the directions, and if you don't, you will have 4 rear brake lights, hehe).
Oh, and when you affix the light fixture to your window, make sure you get it aligned right the first time. Not that anyone will notice, but I put the fixture about 3/8 of an inch from the edge of the headliner. It probably should have gone flush against the liner and would of made it easier to get it parallel, mine is a tad 2 degrees off.

But Dave, your a Helicopter Mechanic!

One more thing on this mod...I ended up putting mine right up against the headliner with the lit part being in the black, I misunderstood the instructions. I think they meant the other edge against the black border. So now it is really stealthy looking, you can absolutely see it only when it is lit.

Well, I don't feel so bad not putting mine perfectly against the edge then. Here's one pic.

That is pretty much how mine looks...now what are you going to do about the factory 3rd brakelight

btw, nice car Dave, noticed you got the coolest looking 1/4 window louvres, hmm the same ones I got on order from CDC. How much did you pay to have them installed & painted? I just got the Xenon C-pillar scoops in the mail today and getting an estimate on Wednesday, may have them installed by then!

I've got a CDC Ducktail spoiler to install now that will cover the old 3rd brake light and give the best looking true ducktail look for the 05. Plan to install this upcoming weekend and will provide pics!

C pillar scoops, I thought you said you are getting the louvers...or are you putting scoops on the door and louvers on the 1/4 windows?
I paid a friend of mine to paint the stuff I got at the time, I did 4 things at the same time for 1 price, so i dont know what i paid for them, very cheap though!
So when you were looking in my gallery , did you notice the back window trim?

Good luck with the spoiler install, take your time and be VERY careful before you drill.

I have the Xenon side door scoops ready to install this week. I have the CDC 1/4 window louvers on order to place on the window. I get confused about the name after looking at too many vendor ads calling them different names. I did notice your rear window, looked at for some time contemplating, it looks nice on your car, I'm kinda neutral on this look. Got to finally see the 3rd brake light other than through the lens of a camera (took pics w/ self timer while I pressed the brake). The light looks good up in the window, wondering if anyone is thinking why my brake light in the trunk doesn't work, gotta cover that up this weekend! Spoiler arrives Thursday.

I'm taking the whole Saturday to do this and plan to measure to perfection. I've seen other CDC ducktail spoilers and they can easily look bad if installed misaligned or too much of a gap left in between the 3 peices, but done right, oy boy so sweeeet!
