Tape Stripe
Just wondering how many people have their mustang with the tape stripe. I got mine deleted because I thought it looked out of place. But feel free to post why or why you didn't get the tape stripe.
I have the '06 Pony model. If you can't tell from the styling and the 8 running horses on the car what it is - then you either don't have any passion about cars or have been living in a cave your entire life.
In addition - the white stripe on Vista Blue would blind you to all the other styling clues and nothing says "I have a 6 banger" like the side stripe.

I have the tape stripe- I think it looks good; it ties the outside of the car with the interior (pearl gold stripe on mineral grey w/ medium parchment int.). I don't see why the people who have it are so eager to get rid of it. Mustang isn't written anywhere else on the car. It looks fine, its just a matter of taste
Keep in mind that the "Pony Package" stripe is different than any other stripe offered on the 2005/2006 Mustangs. It has an additional stripe above and below the M U S T A N G. I actually placed another 1/8" white stripe within that to make it match my hood stripe. That means I have 5 rocker stripes! It works for me. However, on some stangs, the single side stripe looks out of place. It depends on what "theme" they have going on.
Drive Safe.

Shutter, I agree with you wholeheartedly as far as your car is concerned. You have the only other Redfire Pony Package I've seen around here. Without a center stripe, or something else, the rocker decal can look a little out of place. The side stripe can work, but not usually by itself.
The real exception that comes to mind is the Vista Blue. That car looks GREAT withthe side stripe. (Although I would put some LeMans center stripes on mine if I had one.)
Your car reminds me of mine when I picked it up. I loved the night time pic you posted.

Mine says Ford on the "gas cap" on the tunk hood. That's the only spot I see one. If someone doesn't know this car is a Mustang, they have been living under a rock for a few years. I believe the 2005+ Mustang is the most recognizable car on the road these days.
I look at the tape stripe from a chick's perspective. It's a great accessory. You look good without the earrings, but with the right pair of earrings, you look faboo. The tape stripe just accessorizes the already fabulous car.

My car came with a tape stripe from the dealer. I didn't really care for it and removed it soon after getting the car.

edit: oh duh... I didn't read your mods. I thought you had a GT.
I kept the stripe only because so many delete it so I like the look. Not to mention Vista Blue looks fantastic with any white on it. To me the pony package has the better rocker stripe, it I got an 05 I might have gotten rid of it.
Funny thing about it is I orginally deleted the pony tape and then at the last min something told me not to. Well, when the car came in the pony tape had a gash in it. I freaked cleaned it off right there on the lot and the paint was not even scratched, the stripe saved it, if I had not got them I would have had to have the whole section repainted. The stripe stays it's good luck!

I just put rocker panel stripes on my Windveil Blue GT vert yesterday, but not the ones with the lettering. They are like the original 3-stripe GT stripes. In fact, to get the specs for it I measured a friend's 68 Shelby Gt-500KR stripes. Then I had the local TrimLine shop do them up for me. IMHO they look pretty sharp. The installer wanted to know why I didn't spell out MUSTANG or GT-300 or anything in the stripe. I told him that if someone doesn't know that it's a Mustang already they probably can't read anyway.
Also, as an aside, the installer said to avoid putting car wax on any vinyl stripes. The wax will attack the vinyl and eventually make them brittle and discolor them. Especially if you have hood and top stripes since they get a lot hotter and endure more sun than rocker panel stripes. Comments?
