stripes going around hood scoop

I currently have my stripes going over my hood scoop, and Im not a huge fan of the way it looks from the side becuase it is a different color than the rest of the car.

so i did a search and couldnt find too many results, does anyone have pics of the their car with stripes going AROUND the scoops, basically no stripes on the scoop. also, what would it take to remove the vinyl from the scoop. thanx.

You could probably use a hair dryer to warm up the vinyl and work it off slowly. Then follow up with a mild compound to remove all the remaining glue off your scoop. Just take your time.I did this with the factory side stripes and they came very easy.

i have seen alot of people just leaving the stripe under the scoop or just adding the scoop to the top of the scoop only

Yeah I agree with you, Jason, I think it would look better with a totally black scoop. Unless maybe you incorporated some more red on your car. Paint calipers red maybe? It has the potential to be one bada$$ ride dude!

Thanks man, Im painting the calipers this week, I just have to wait for the dealership to get my wheels lock key in. Then I may be powdercoating those wheels black.
They should look something like this (thanks to Burningman for the photoshop)

Dude. Sexy. I'm very interested to see those powdercoated. Are you getting any lettering on the calipers?

You bet, black mustang letters, or perhaps the pony logo, we shall see.

Might I suggest white perhaps? More contrast. But I see the look you're going for with black and red. Keep us posted!

no... don't do it, finally a car striped correctly.
you have the red stripe on the side and you can see stripes on the trunk and over the wing, look at the older cars thats the way it should be it looks complete, professional. look at the shelby GT, striped exactly like yours .... done right!!!

even though it is striped correctly and i admit it is, the red stands out too much, if it was silver like the shelby or Charcoal Metallic like i have it then it would be ok because it does not stand out as much but the red is just too bright and it looks like he added a Red hood scoop to his Black car

I like it the way it is....I'm not a fan of the scoop being "on top"...make it look even more fake that it already is...I've never heared a Shelby GT350 owner complain about it......its probably just the fact that the read stands out soo much from the black...it catches your attention.

it is just the red, if it was silver or a charcoal it would look ok because the color blends with the black, if it was a white car i do not think there would be that much of a problem but on a black car any color other than dark or deep tones stands out
