To stripe or not to stripe? ...that is the question

I'm getting my SHR louvers painted at a local bodyshop and the guy offered to paint stripes on my car for $800 with clearcoat. That's a really reasonable price, IMO, so I'm thinking about doing it. I'm just not sure if I want to stripe her, it's a daily driver and I'm not sure I want to go that far "out there".

If I get it done, I'm thinking either gray like the shelby GTs or ford blue. I'm def. going to add a shaker at some point in the future whether or not I stripe it.

Any opinions? I've looked through the stripes spreadsheet, but I'm looking for opinions on both sides.

What shop was this? I am in the DFW area and would love to get mine striped (I have vinyl now). $800 is very resonable!

And by all means, stripe her!

Does the $800 include color sanding so that there is no edge between the stripe and the base coat? If so, that is a smoking deal.

I say stripe it also, and the gray is my choice between the 2. It looks real nice on the shelbys.

$800 seems too cheap to me, but I guess it all depends on where you live.

Thats what I paid for mine to be striped and cleared. You can't even feel mine at all. My painter said the hardest part is laying the stripes off and lining everything up perfectly, but he wouldn't do another for that..
My vote would be to GO FOR IT!!

I personally don't like stripes but if everyone was like me, well you know the rest! Don't worry about being "out there" If you likes stripes GIT-R-DONE!

After seeing your post regarding the problems with your louvers, $800 is looking not very attractive right now. Sorry for the troubles man!
