Stolen spoiler, filling the remaining holes

Somebody yanked the spoiler right off the trunk lid of my car a while back. Anyways, i like it without the spoiler better but is there any way to fill in the holes after i take out the remaining screws. Do i have to buy a new trunk lid or is there something else i can do. Also, who has a good way to remove the black adhesive.........

Thanks in advanced

WTF they could have just traded with the hundreds of people looking for swaps for spoiler deletes. F*&#ing people have no respect. However, ther is some stuff by 3M that you can get to remove that residue cant remember what it was called, but it is made especially for that. I myself used rubbing alcohol seemed to work.

i have tried the rubbing alcohol before and it did well until the last layer i guess.... i guess ill give the 3m stuff a try. ive seen some one guy use a couple nylon pieces from a hardware shop then sealant to fill the holes but id prefer something cleaner looking, not sayin he did a bad job or anything. should i just get a new trunk lid if i dont want a spoiler anymore

****, that is the first I have heard of an entire spoiler being jacked. **** fools.

Anyway, any body shop should be able to fill/sand/paint the holes. Not always a cheap thing though.

+1 on getting the 3M adhesive remover. I got my spray can of it from Wal-Mart. I've tried goo gone and WD40, and neither worked as well as the 3M stuff.

As for filling the holes, have a shop fill them then respray the trunk.

I was quoted $450 for the job. Not sure if it's too much

Thats messed up! It may be cost effective to replace the whole deck lid w/or w/out the spoiler if you could find one at a wrecking yard.

My question is, how the hell did they rip your spoiler off? The factory spoiler has 4 bolts on the inside holding it on plus 3M tape. Did they pry your trunk lid open first?

I agree, I think its basically impossible to take it off without getting access to the bolts or hooking it up to another vehicle and ripping the entire trunk up or OFF

Not only that but the amount of force required to rip the thing off of the car would have bent the crap out of the trunk lid. Just grab hold of one and move it back and forth to get an idea of the damage that would result from someone prying off one of these things.

Then again I assume they busted it off and you have the 2 risers still bolted to the trunk. You can get the holes filled. Look at my blog. It shows the holes being filled before the car is repainted.

i dont know how they did it or or how it happened but the screws are the only thing left still in the holes. There are some small depressions around where it would have attatched but you cant notice unless your close up. anyways, for $450 i might just find a cheaper spoiler that i like. anyoone know where i can look up new trunk lids online

I am confused. What screws? 4 bolts hold the spoiler in place, not screws. If you remove the spoiler there is nothing for the bolts to hang onto so they would just fall into your trunk. Do you have pics?
