stang teardown
Wow, amazing work here. Your dedication and workmanship is already showing. I've been thinking about shaved handles as well. What kit will you be using to spring the doors out when opening? Also - what would you charge someone that comes to the shop to have them done and repainted?
Great work, can't wait to see it all finished (and of course the pics along the way)
Dennis.

yeah progress really seems to slow down during the week. Job always seems to get in the way of fun stuff. Here's the most recent shot tho tonight.....after I sanded and polished it. Windows are getting tinted tomorrow. Maybe I'll even get the doors hung back on again also.
Thanks for all your compliments......I'm working as hard as I can on it....so you nor I have to wait too long for the finished results

Oh forgot to answer your question about what shaved handle kit I used. I didn't have a kit I did it myself (I do alot of streetrods and customs here) so always have parts laying around. I took some electric solenoids and mounted them in the doors, hacked around on the latch itself (got rid of all the locking components...as you would hate to have it lock accidently, then you would have no way in) and I switched a few factory wires around so the "lock" button on the remote pops open the drivers door....and the "unlock" button clicked twice opens the passenger door. Then I'll install some spring loaded "poppers" to help push the door out. Easy as that!haha As for $$$$ like my dad always said "if ya gotta ask....ya can't afford it" shouldn't ever be a spending limit on hobbies tho right??!!!!!
Just wanted to say thanks for showing us the progress of your wicked looking stang...this is like the "overhauling" show for us mustang source users...
what color our you going to use for the pin stripes?

ya know, as gorgeous as I think that green is, I think you've also made a very wise choice having it two colors, black and green. If it were all green somehow I don't think it would look quite as nice. Once again great job
