What do you mean by tinted mirrors? You have the side view mirrors tinted?

Thanks for the pics, BTW. Like many others, I'm still trying to decide what ducktail to get. Do you have any pics at eye level? I think that's why it looks so tall in the pics.

I meant tinted windows.. Sorry.. :bang: The second pic is at eye level for the most part. The spoiler isn't that tall or big, but I haven't seen any other ducktails up close either so I can't compare. Overall, I really like the way it compliments the back of the car. And the 3M double side molding tape seems to be holding well at speed of 100 so far.

Did you attach the tail yourself? How much did it cost? I want to do the same to my 06 when I get it. Yours looks awesome! I like your color too. I would have gotten the same color, but I had to get vista blue because of the color change.

I too would like to know how it installs. I read on SSE's website that you can also use bolts to attach the spoiler? Let me know. Your car looks awesome !

Why did you cover the license plate? About 100,000 people a day probably see it on the road...

Yes, I did attach it myself. The paint job costed me $150.. You can put screws for extra security, but I wanted to avoid putting holes in my car for the fear of rust down the road. The screws go in from under the trunk lid and up into the spoiler. The screws, IMO, would look out of place. The 3M dble sided molding tape holds pretty strong as long as you get ALL the wax off the area where the tape will be touching.

I agree with you 06GT. I never understood the idea of hiding a plate, but I was going with the flow on these car forums and thought maybe it was a rule of some sort. Every forum I visited people always block their plate out.

Thanks for the compliment guys/gals..

I assumed you meant the windows, but once I thought about it, tinted mirrors wouldn't be a bad idea. I might look into that.

Spoiler looks GREAT! I just got my SS Duck Tail and can't wait to get it on the car. Spoke with two body shops & both had concerns about the tape and how long the tape would hold. Any thoughts on how long the tape will hold?

It has only been 6 days since I have installed the spoiler, and so far there have been no signs of the tape letting go. The double sided tape that is used is the exact same kind that most car manufactures apply to the body moldings. It is some sticky stuff.

The key to making sure this stuff sticks is removing ANY and ALL types of wax or grease from the body of the car. It has to be completely clean. And you also have to be sure to use a adhesive promoter.

TIP: after your spoiler has cured from the paint and right before you are ready to install be sure to leave the spoiler in the sun for an hour so you have some flex. This makes it easier to "push" the spoiler to the curves of the car.

I am keeping an eye on the spoiler daily to be sure the tape holds tight. I'm just worried about how strong it will hold when winter comes around..

Does SS offer painted option? Or can you give details of painting and installation too?
BTW it looks great!
