Spolier Paint questions

[edit]... just realized that I can't spell spoiler, who knew ?? [/edit]

So I probably should have posted this before I sent the spoilers to the painter... oh well.

Is 450 for a CDC textured classic chin spoiler and the SSE Gen I ducktail seem right ??? It's a lifetime warranty on the paint, whatever that means, and is painted to match. I'm installing the pieces so it's just prep & paint.

Seems a little high but not unreasonable. I was squoted betwen $250 and $300 to paint a Roush front fascia which I would assume requires more time since it is a larger piece. I believe most people are paying between $100-200 for a chin spoiler paint job. So $250 for duck tail isn't too bad.

sounds high to me too unless the ducktail needs a lot of prep My dad has the pre-painted SSE ducktail and its been great for over a year.

Thanks for the feedback. I kinda figured that it'd be a little high, but with a warranty that it'll never crack I'm not going to complain too much. They were most concerned with the SSE ducktail and how flexible it is. So we'll see how it all comes out.

I'll have pics by next Friday because I'm picking them up Thursday.

Now I need to know how hard is the SSE ducktail to install ?? does it really just stick w/double sided tape ?? or should I use the screws ?

I'd say go with the screws and skip the tape. Reason being that dirt and all kind of other crud will get wedged in the cracks and stick to the tape instead of flushing through when you wash it.

The only problem is that it isn't as reliant on screws as the CDC. In fact there are only four, two for the main spoiler and one each for the side pieces. the rest is double sided tape. The Screws are 'optional'

I should have them installed along with the FRPP struts by the time I get down to SD.
