Why are you individuals getting the spoiler deleted? I see no benefit but if you do please respond. The Mustang looks a lot better with one.

I think a lot of folks are opting to delete the spoiler because it gives the '05 profile a line similar to the '67-68 fastbacks.

As for me, I will be getting a vert, so I'll have to see first. My bride likes the spoilers because it makes it easier for her (short little self) to visually place the back end of the car!

Might not be a problem with the verts, though. We will see.

Once again it's a matter of preference. Remember opinions are like everyone has one!

Good luck and have fun with yours.

Spoiler that is!

I think we have all established that with this current design, which is void of cheap, tacked-on pieces and parts, that a spoiler just seams to clutter the design up. If you trace back all the designs Ford has had regarding the Mustang, including the Bullitt, 05 concept, and the 40th anniversary they were all designed without a spoiler. Somehow, some way however, someone on the Ford staff just wouldn't be happy with a Mustang that lacked a spoiler. Someone else however knew better, thus making it an option (finally).

There is nothing wrong if you prefer spoilers, it is quite evident that almost everyone that drives a Mustang thinks this way as well. It is just a difference in opinion.

Personally, I hate them. I don't see why the car needs one, other than the fact that it comes it with one. Think of all the cars out there that don't come with spoilers. GT supercar, Corvette, all BMWs, Mercedes. Miata, Viper, etc. The list goes on and on and finally someone wised up and realized that they were simply puting a spoiler on the car for no good reason at all...

Useless deadweight, added aerodynamic drag,
cluttered up design ... would be good reasons to nuke the spoiler to me.

Now if Ford put a ducktail or lip on the back like the 69-70 Mustang then the spoiler delete would be good.

Personal opinion is the answer cool. Thanks for your feedback.

It's preferance as said before. I really don't care for it, looks to me like an after-thought. Doesn't accentuate the lines of the car. Some cars look nice with a OEM spoiler, if it's not too goofy. If the only way you could buy it was with a spoiler, it wouldn't bother me a whole lot but given the option, I'll delete it. Too bad you can't have them include it without putting it on, so you could sell it on ebay.

I had a spolier before on a car, and the paint on it faded quicker then the paint on my car, so it started to look kind of funny after a couple of years.

Something to consider anyways...........

I personally think its looks cleaner and much more nice. That and I'm a bit jaded to get another since my wife's broke off from normal use of her trunk. <_<

Besides looking cheap and flimsy, I think the spoiler makes the back end look too tall. Ordered mine without it.

As someone wrote, the car looks cleaner without the spoiler, plus the trunk springs will work better without the extra weight. With a convertible, use of the trunk becomes more necessary.

I use a bike rack that fits on where the spoiler would go, so Spoler Delete for me!

Hmm, can you get the spoiler delete option, but still get the spoiler...in case you change your mind? I mean, you are paying for it either way. You guys that are getting it deleted are really getting ripped off.

ripped off??? how so?

if people do get the spoiler on their trunk and dont want it there, theres the hassle of taking it off and the holes being there. or having to trade a trunk with an owner who doesnt have a spoiler on the trunk. i dont see people getting ripped off, i just see people that get the spoiler on the GT as getting something free

If I were to order a car it would be without spoiler for the simple reason that I hate it.

I asked my dealer when I picked up my '05 GT without the spoiler if I decided that I did want to spoiler, would I be able to get it. I was told that I would have to pay for a new one. So, once you get it without you can't get the spoiler unless you purchase a new one.

That doesn't bother me, because I think the car looks great without the spoiler. If the car had come with the spoiler, I wouldn't complain. The rear wing looks good. But given the choice, I like the look without the spoiler.

So...like i said. If you get the spoiler delete, you are getting LESS physical car, for your money. And hence, ripped off. Why can't they just give it to you in a bag or something.
