Although I like the look of the spinners on the bullitt wheels, are they really retro from a classic stang? All I can remember growing up was how cool the spinners on the vette were (functional too!), but I don't ever remember seeing spinners on a mustang; Shelby perhaps?

Just curious.

I remember in 1966 my Dad taking delivery of a 66 with spinners!
Back then everyone had them as an option!
Happy Trails!!!

As it has been pointed out, they were available on the early Mustangs. They maybe a little more recognizable on the Vettes because they were available for many more years (late 50's hubcaps through 1966 knock-off wheels).

I think the spinners look cool. Have you guys seen the new Halibrand wheels on the 05 Mustang? I saw this car on Ebay in May, and really thought these wheels looked incredible! They are available through Discount Tire's website. I think when I priced them out, the 18" rims w/tires came out to $2k. The spinners were not listed on the website, so those may need to be purchased through Halibrand separately. (they have a website too, but again, the spinners were not listed)

Either way, I think this is the way I would go.....retro, but very cool!

My first Mustang ,a rangoon red coupe, came from the factory in 1965 with hubcaps. The next upgrade was hubcaps with spinners, then styled steel wheels. Fortunately, a buddy was working at Ford and conned the supplier into sending him four. That's how I got mine.
I ordered my 67,390 vert, with dog dish caps and replaced them with an after market wheel similar to today's bullits and a spinner. To me the spinners on my bullits were a must and I ordered them and the factory exhaust tips as my first custom touches. Mustangs and spinners do go together IMO .
