So, it looks like the base V6 gets a painted version of the nice V6 machined rims with the spinners. I have not been able to see how the spinners attach. THey are not lugged on and look like they just sit were the cap usually goes. If that is the case We should be able to adde them to the bullet style rims, right. I think it would look sweeeet, but I guess we'll have to wait to see if it can be done.

Yeah, they definitely wouldn't go together well. Sharp and angular with smooth and curvy. Too much contrast - plus the shades may not match.

 

Spinners (or more accurately, multi pronged spinner-like centers) on non-knock off wheels are simply eleanor blingity blang blang. It's no better than gargantuan wings, coffee can mufflers or stickers in languages you can't understand plastered on your windshield. Ford put those spinners on for one reason, every 14-17 yr old who saw the remake of gone in 60 now believes that 60's mustangs had fake knock off wheels, and they look sharp. I haven't seen a 60s mustang, or any other year, with real or fake halibrands that weren't installed by the demographic ford is now marketing to. I guess it's smart thing to do, but if you like it, I think you should find a civic with big wing on it, and tell the guy driving it you respect his car and his styling.

First,
My stock 66 sport had "spinners" from the factory!
When did the "knock off" topic come in. I wanted to see what the spinners would look like on the 17" bullet wheels that are stock on the base 05 GT.

Why do so many people insist on pointing to RICE anytime someone has a difference of opinion in style. I have seen several classic muscle cars that have "spinners" on them. It looks awesome in my opinion. And since I did not want to buy "Halibrands" or "knock offs", nor would I want 16"s on a GT, so I thought the old torque thrust style wheels or bullet wheels like everyone calls them would look good with the spinners. Dont make assumptions that are poorly based.

And maybe if any one with photoshop and the ability to host an image would care to create such a thing, that might help (I'd do it, but I can't host, and the computer w/ photoshop is 6 miles away...)

I like the new spinners Ford has......I dunno about a Bullit/spinner combo, but I wish the spinners came in 17-18. Although my top preference is the chromed 18's.

 

I sortof liked the spinner on the old style Crager S/S wheels. The new bullitt wheels kindof remind me of them, may not look to bad at all.

 

I would take 17 or 18" versions of the 6 wheel over the bullitts anyday.

 

Me too! Maybe the SE's will get something. Doubtful tho. Surely aftermarket will get some, like the bullit explosion.

i had spinners on my 1984 cougar when i was 16 years old...i thought they were cool!

the way these attached were a small round center cap that sat up against the hub around the lugs and went thru the center hole in the wheel. It is hard to describe, but the centercap lays against the hub, then the wheel goes on, then your lugs hold the wheel on, then the spinner. the center cap had a threaded hole. the back of the spinner itself had a 1" threaded bolt that threaded into this center cap.

viewing the 2005 wheel above, it is hard to tell if this is the technique that they used to attach them.
