Sooooooo, I got my SHR Louvers
First thanks John. I now know why you took them off. I hope that paint shop is on your NEVER GO BACK TO List. Brutal. It took a lot of patience prepping them. I got most of it but had to cry uncle, and get some professional help to finish the task. My guy couldn't believe a professional admitted do them for you. As it was, my final paint had to encroach upon a tad of the see thru area to cover up what was. Anyway. No problemo! And I am sooooo happy with them. So a word of advice out there. Either pay the extra and get them painted directly from Marcello, or KNOW your paint guy. (This is absolutely in no way finding any fault with what I bought. I knew what I was getting, as John was way above board with me on these. And I didn't mind, cause I usually do all my own work. There is nothing like being able to say you did it yourself)
Soooooooo, anyway, I start the disassemble of the interior to access the OEM Glass, for it's removal. and a little light goes off. (As long as it's all apart....) whynot. Soooooo, a little fineiting coming to the interior now also. Carrying my theme throughout the entire cabin. Basically some Black enchancements coupled with Redfire Piping.
Then my wifie gets back from shopping, and litterly has a Bird, because I got the Mustang interior completely out and placed, well kinda piled, in her parking stall. Now normally that would not be an issue, but there is this other small project I got going on in the garage also. My 64 Bird. Guess what, yep, it's interior is all over the place too.
Sometimes they just don't get it............oh well
Sooooo, tonight, the glass gets sawed out. Already masked off, and hole started. Tommorow its clean out all the OEM gunk, and prep for the install.
Just wanted to let you all know Im in trouble again, thanks to John.

I just got mine installed monday. The poor painter had to spray them 4 times. The paint just wasn't curing right for him. But he did an outstanding job. Even painted the inside section of them flat black to match the interior. I absolutely love them. They are getting a lot of attention. I would second the recommendation to get them pre-painted. Painting them was $300. So I would have saved a bit of money just doing that.
So are you sleeping in the Bird or the Pony tonight? Only kidding, I still get stares at mine and I have to admit I may just be the only guy in Kansas City with them to date. I might have to ask Marcello about these as well.
They may be a real PITA, but the end result looks completely worth it to me. Of course, this is coming from a guy who has never installed a set. I am right on the edge on picking up a set but only if I can drop my car off to Marcello to install for me. lol
LOL-I'd be more than happy to, but I honestly don't have the time to do it right now. It's not bad though, I've done them in driveways with no issues (of course I wouldn't do it with the weather like it is right now... wait until October!)

Hey Mike, actually it is quite a straight forward install. Just a little consuming, that's all. I was suprised at how easily the interior came apart and out. (I'm use to the old zillion interior screw and the like) There are only 3 push pins on either side, that hold it all together. Only tools needed are a torx (for the coathanger) and a 14mm socket (for the seatbelt). That's it!! I can't believe I didn't do this mod as soon as they were available. I will say, and over and over again, though, If you do NOT know a painter, buy them prepainted. Because if they screw up the prep work, the finish will never be right. You avoid that issue, by just biting the bullet and pay up front. Do NOT go to any discount paint shop to have them done. They are an AWESOME mod, and need to be done correctly.
