So now it's Silverstar Ultras?

What is Sylvania doing to us? I just put in the Silverstars and they come out with Silverstar Ultras (supposedly brighter). OK, I'm an idiot and I'll get them. But, my local auto parts stores do not have H-13/9008's yet. I hope they don't take as long to ship them as they did with the original Silverstar H-13's.

Anybody got any info on these new bulbs?

Well, the local auto parts store has them on sale for like 37.00 a set, so I picked up a pair for our tow vehicle (F350 DRW V10) - it definitely lights up the road with a better light, but I don't notice a much more "distant" lighting of the road, which is what I was hoping for. This could be that we need to re-aim the lights too, but I'm not sure if that will make the difference I'm seeking. Need some KC daylighters up top instead of the clearance lights, that would make me happy

But for no other reason than the color difference of the light (which makes the road more visible) I'd say go for them. If you already have the Silverstars, I'd probably wait until you needed to replace them to upgrade. By then, they probably will have ultra-super-duper-silverstars available...

Sylvania must have gone to the George Lucas school of marketing (if anyone doesn't get that joke, you're not a Star Wars geek)

And if you think I'm buying yet another boxed set because they put the original Anakin back in the end of the movie, you underestimate my powers to refrain from the purchase...

Werd! To throw this thread completely off track, you do know that the movies are being further tweaked for the big 30th Anniversary, right? I'm serious BTW

Ehhh - they just want to do the Blue-Ray version, that's all. I can't believe how many times he's sold the same three movies, because let's face it, I don't think in 25 years we'll be worried about EP1-3 like we are talking about 4-6 still to this day.

The world was a much better place before they went 100% CGI - there was something "real" about having actors on an actual set...

Was told from the man, these LAST longer. Which has been a HUGE complaint with Silverstars in the past.

I get maybe a year out of SS bulbs, when the stock bulbs from 1997 still work.........

I've used the Osram branded Silverstars for 2 years running without any problems. I was told at the time to avoid the Sylvania branded Silverstars. I believe the difference is the manufacturing plant.

Yes, same outfit. They might use the Osram name outside the US.

The Osram versions are H's as opposed to Sylvania's 9000 series (DOT) approved.
