side exhaust

so i was wondering has anyone done side exhaust without doing side skirts? was really wondering what it would look like I don't wanna do side skirts because im not doing any other body kit and it would just look ****ty then i think. was just wondering why no one has done it that ive seen steeda has a pretty good kit that i was considering but wanted to see it on the stang before i made any decisions. ..... also anyone have good ideas for a replacement for the rear end if i move the exhaust gonna have to change out the bumper to get rid of the molding for the stock exhaust

Haven't seen it done yet but I have a feeling it would look pretty bad without the proper rocket panels

I feel exactly the same way:

I hate all the side skirts and rear bumpers that are available right now.

There was a guy on eBay making custom 1/4 window, side, & hood scoops who claimed in his auctions he was finalizing a kit, but I haven't seen anything on it yet.

I looked under the car and I wasn't comfortable with getting close to the gas tank. Also, there would be some serious clearance issues not only where the tips come out, but also under the car itslef. If you didn't use any mufflers (i.e. SLP Loudmouths) or you could find a set of the small cylinder shaped mufflers like what Magnaflows and a few others have, I don't think it would be that hard for a decent exhaust shop to do.

For the rear bumper, I would use the V6 bumper, but that's because I have the V6 rocker moldings like the new Shelby uses so everything would line up great. Just get a body shop to patch the one cutout in the bumper.

Here's a photochop I did back when I was thinking about doing it. I LOVE the '65 Shelby look this mod would give the car.

The black car is the one from eBay.

The red one belongs to flamin ponyexpress He has the Cervini kit and side skirts.

thats exactly what i was thinkin except i wanted dual exhaust on each side i have seen it somewhere and think its absolutely awesome basically i want to do what the cervini kit does w/o the skirts... the problem is it does go extremely close to the gas tank, could look weird, and also has the problem of the exhaust smell when you idle w/ your windows open... other then that lol i love this idea though and wanted some feed back on it

Dual on both sides? Interesting. Would give it kind of a race car look I guess.
If you do it I'd LOVE to see it. What are your plans for the rocker panel mouldings and the "lip" they attach to? (take a look under the car, behind the moulding)

How much do you think your average exhaust shop would charge you to do a custom side exhaust w/ out mufflers (aka loudmouths)? I get the impression that side exhaust isn't the most popular mod for the 05+ Mustangs but I love it! Even though Bash Performance doesn't have the best rep... I love the video they have on their website....... but man its expensive!

Actually My body kit is not the cervinis! It's the Blow-By Racing BBR LNR 500-E body kit!

Ah. Sorry about that.
I'm curious, what all is different about them?

Front bumper is less aggressive on the BBR than Cervini, Cervini's side skirt is open at the bottom of the oval opening where BBR is closed, the rear bumper is less aggressive with the BBR than Cervinis, the Fog lamps are bigger with the BBR than Cervinis (and the finish looks better on Cervini's than BBR... BBRs look like a pair of off-roading lamps).. rear spoiler is closer to the new GT500 on the BBR, where Cervinis has an oversized ducktail

My car scrapes as it is in certain underbody areas w/ the FRPP handling kit...I don't even want to think about the pipes I would crunch with a side-exhaust

Really?? All I've heard is good things about Cervinis' side exhaust... that's strange! Well, I guess it's all about personal taste...
