Car looks GREAT. What springs do you have that on, that thing is slammed to the ground.

Thanks! Just good ole FRPP springs!

Deric 3/30/08 06:36 PM

Looking Good. The black chrome makes the spokes look super tiny towards the center.

05GT-O.C.D. 3/30/08 06:42 PM

I love the Black Chrome. They look different in every light. With more light the chrome stands out, and with less light the black stands out. The pics were taken w/ overcast, so you get a little of both, the reflecting chrome gives that skinny look.

eBay? Me, too. Black powder coated.

275-35 on all corners.

My bathroom scale said 60 lbs each, wheel + tire, of which the tire is half, according to Tire Rack.

That caliper was epoxy-painted in "Tungsten Gray". Looks as if Tungsten Gray is a shade of purple.

Looks good. Can one of you guys give me a link to the vendor on Ebay selling these? I recall some guy saying he had some for sale on here a while back. He wouldn't say the weight so I imagine they weigh a ton. They're not replicas, right?

Here y' go:
http://hardcoremustangs.net/store/index.php?cPath=21_37

Seems as if the price has gone up ...

While I was involved in the buying process I contacted Saleen about the wheels, and was happy to have the representative volunteer, " ... those wheels Ernie is selling are legit ... "

They are heavy. Makes for a good over-the-road ride and really good on-ramp experience. I'll be wearing some edges off the tires on Saturday at an autocross practice day at Qualcomm Stadium. We'll see how it goes.

The 20's came in (two rims)scratched and the first two tires were ripped on the install. It wasn't meant to be.I'm very happy with the 18's.The 18's were a mistake/misordered in the first place.I got a huge discount going with the 18's after a 3 week wait.Did you hear the AR Redlines are discontinued? I verified that yesterday.

I wonder why they would discontinue a beautiful rim like this? I guess those of us out there with them will have to be extra careful not to damage them.

Is that black chrome??? If so Im actually debating whether or not to do the same to my Bullitt rims or wait and later on maybe get the Shelby C67's.

Barricade 6/2/08 06:35 AM

Careful powder coating unless they are steel wheels. That baking process will make the wheels brittle.
Its a universal no no from what I have read. Paint sure! but no powercoating the aluminum wheels.

It looks like gray paint with some clearcoat. Anyway it sure looks good!!

superman112 6/2/08 12:17 PM

thats for the heads up.. its actually called ChromeX and its a spray op chrome.. they had some peices there that they chrome and so beautiful. Think I may have them do my wheels and while the cars there paint my valve covers and some other stuff in the motor.

juniorshelby 6/2/08 11:13 PM

I research things insanely before doing anything. I work for a ford dealer and from what I'm told ford uses an acrylic powder coat process on the fan blades. It was so tough that the powder coater had to send them out to be liquid honed. Everything I have read since your post says the aluminum can with stand much higher heat then the baking process.

Ok, I know this isn't the "Show us your wheel cap" thread, but thought I would share an inexpensive mod to make your wheels look a little more unique. Got them from Kevin Casey (TMS user name 05stangKC)

These are the same wheel caps available on the Caroll Shelby wheels (you usually see the red version)
