Show me your HID conversions (non-factory)

Hi all, please post any night pictures you have your HID conversion headlights. I am talking purely aftermarket, not the factory options. Please include what brand they are and the temperature. Thank you.

nonsense, rice are those $20 neon purple bulbs at Walmart. I would be more concerned about getting noticed by the police with 8000k's than I would getting called rice.

6000k is where its at. Less glare, more output, still blue. Puts out more then twice the light of my old headlights and fogs together. No one ever flashes me going the other direction. Actually less annoying then factory Acura headlights(much less glare then older Lexus/Acura setups) and they put out more light, coming alongside a TL from an adjacent lane, you can tell when my headlights are lighting his way. Lights nearly 90 degrees deep into the woods and striped lines even when wet look like neon in front of you. Lights up stop signs and police reflective tape from over 1/4 mile away. Under $200, no problems in 6 months of usage, and makes the dark grey car MUCH safer in daylight/dusk conditions, reduced people cutting in front of me from constantly to nil. People also tend to not pull out in front of you, even when they have a very confortable margin. Best $175 I ever spent on any of my 2 dozen plus cars' worth of modifications. Never been harassed about them in the toughest traffic-policed county in the country(got pulled over 3 times in 5 days when I bought it before I put the front tag on). any questions?

Hey Kevin. How was the install of your kit. I heard that our cars require an extra relay to work properly. Did yours come with it??

solenoid flip-up bi-xenon, VVME setup from the HK vendor on ebay, came in faster then the US distributor. Sellers name is flashplus Just search 'H13 HID' on ebay and look for the red boxes in the photos.

The original thread that this one is trying to duck has full details, instructions, how to wire and install it, photos-everything you ever wanted to know about HID's on S197s. Detailed pics of the installation of this specific kit. And no, doesn't need anything. The thread will tell you exactly how to put it in. That thread should be stickied.

The straight ahead shots at night never look that good, several people including me tried in that thread too. It looks perfect, don't worry about it...

Different cameras will show completely different colors. Check out these two pics of before/after my HID fog conversion:

The regular driving lights did NOT change... first camera saw them as yellowish, second camera saw them is more blueish. My eyes see them as whiteish with a feint blueish tint.

I repeat, the driving lights did NOT change... only the fogs. And the camera. So deciding on color temperature based on individual pictures from different cameras is probably not very reliable.

How complicated is the install on these kits? Thats the only thing holding me back from ordering them.
