Should I get matte black stripes?
Should I get matte black stripes?
Im thinking about getting matte black stripes on just my hood. Right where the ram air ducts are. I am not getting the whol car striped becasue matching the stripes with the spacing on the hood would look odd on the whole car, and putting them too close on the hood would look odd. I was wondering what everyone thought. Should I leave it as is? Or get the matte balck stripes?

Tough call. I think it would look good, but I'm not sure if your car needs it. Even w/ the matte black, you might be approaching the overdone look. Right now it's nice, clean black.
If you go w/ the matte black, I think removing your hood pins and spraying them w/ a matte black would give it a nice look without being over the top.

John I was actually thinking the same thing. That right now it look clean and pulled together, and that the stripes might disrupt that and make it look overdone, but than again matte black is subtle and might add to it.
As someone who has matte black on a black car, I don't think I would do it in your case. I find the stripes on the hood like yours to be wrong somehow to my eye. Not to offend anyone who has them, but I don't care for the spacing that develops between them when they are done behind the inlets. You are very right that it looks even more out of place on the rest of the car, but it just doesn't seem right on that hood. However if you do stripes, get some vinyl matte black ones from BSM, throw them on the hood for a while and see what you think. It won't cost much, and you'll quickly decide if you like them.

I have a relative of mine working on a custom grill, if I like the way it turns out, I'll be paiting that matte black as well to tie in with the theme (as well as the lower grill). If I don't like the way it turns out, I'm doing the black billet bar grill from Shelby, it's not a shiny black, it's a matte black, so it will still work ok (as well as the black lower billet bar grill for the GT/CS).
Go for it! I should be doing mine in the next couple of months. I have a couple more things to buy before I do all this.
Go for it! I've never seen a black matt striped Stang look bad. Especially The Black Jack Roush.
One thing as mentioned, your Stang really looks good the way it is.The body lines on the body really shift and flip the paint nicely.

randy thanks for that but now im even more torn lol. If it isnt too much trouble i was wondering if you could make another pic where the stripes go all the way. Instead of just stopping behind the vents, also if it is at all possible for you too add the stripes to one of the other pics that would be really great. thanks alot either way.
