Shelby hood pin (Drake) cable install location?

Those of you that have installed the Shelby hood pins (Scott Drake kit), where did you end up mounting the cables? I find them too long. I am trying to figure out the best place to mount them. I don't want to run them through the front grille, more over it like on the Shelby GT. Pics would be appreciated.

I had to slightly drill out the holes on the lanyards, but I mounted one of the lanyards in the screw for the power steering reservoir, and the other for the passenger side screw on the coolant overflow tank.

For running the cables, I then ran the cables under the radiator cover, around the front of the posts for the hood pins, then out the sie of the radiator cover so that they fall into the groove between the grille and the section that is between the grille and the headlight.

My apologies for the lack of better pictures but this is all I have on this computer.

I ran my cables to the same spot as the Shelby GT and riveted them on... Worked pretty good!

I found a pic that shows where they get installed. I just finished the installation. Thanks for the hints guys. I'll post pics when I get a chance to take some.

kool did you install them in the hoodstops? and did you have to take off the bumper in order to drill the holes? also were there any problems with the pins sitting flush? I have heard there are issues when you put them out so far?

Not in the hoodstops, but it is the hole right next to them. I did not take off the bumper to drill holes, I used the Dremel and cut the backside(facing motor)of the support just enough to fit a wrench in there. It doesn't look pretty, but this is no hood open show carIssues with the pins sitting flush...oh heck yeah! They look bad from a few feet away, but they are in and do an excellent job of holding the hood down!I have heard of a fix by rotating the scuff plates and redrilling the hood holes. I'm holding off on that for right now as I'm waiting for the two guys who discovered this another week to get their project done and take some better/closer shots so I may fix mine.

Hmmm, trying to figure out what this has to do with my question My hood pins are already installed, I was just asking where to mount the cables. Going to close this since I already have the answer.
