Jason, I respect that, bro. I'm not going to say I didn't like it without. But, I really think it adds something... and makes the car even more unique. And I just thought the front of the car looked weak, stock. When you look at the side of the car, it has a rake to it... slanting down towards the front. But, the front bumper almost curves up. Having the chin spoiler on it now makes the bottom line of the car flow from front to rear. I'll try to take a side shot soon.
I can see that. Maybe it'll just take some getting used to for me since I have been so in love with your car.

You know since you said you're almost done with the mods, you're going to have to buy a new one and start over. It NEVER ends!

Ok , Iam afraid to ask but I will...Why are you taking you radiator support out?
[/b]

Well, I already removed the swaybar, which allows the front end to lift more during hard takeoffs, which in turn puts more weight to the rear wheels and keeps them from slipping as easily. As far as the radiator support, I want to remove it to save 25 lbs. off the front of the car. The stock radiator support is a huge piece of metal... made that way to hold/support the front swaybar as well. So, now that the swaybar is off, there is no need for the big, bulky stock support. Once I take it off, I'll rig something to support the radiator, using either angle brackets or ties of some sort. Removing the swaybar, and also shaving 25 lbs. off the front off the car, should get me about a tenth of a second in my 1/4 mile times.

Thanks. The reason I decided to get the chin spoiler (and as fast as I did) was after seeing it on your ride.

I didn't know about the meet in September of '06. Do you have a link to the thread this is in? I need some more info... but I'll definitely try and work something out to get there.

Shelby has been jealous of Natasha for a long time now. Man, it's cool to see how all of our cars have progessed from stock to now. It's a beautiful thing.

Jason, don't even tempt me. The only way I could do that anyway is to sell my car now and make just about what I put into it. Anybody want to buy my car for $35k? The idea of starting over on a new '05 (or '06) with what I know now is definitely exciting though.

Alright Ian. Enough joking around. Where are the side shots!?!

(I'm very curious to see both what the front end looks like from the side with the roush and cdc chin - since that's the way I'll probably go - and to see what it all looks like with the sse ducktail, since that's on my short list too. By the way - did you get spoiler delete or do something with the holes?)

I don't have the car today... I'll try and take a side shot here at work tomorrow. If not, I'm going to wash/wax the car on Saturday morning and take some pics then. So, Saturday noon at the latest.

As far as the trunk... unfortunately I got the spoiler. Didn't know a year and a half ago when I ordered the car what I was going to do to it. I had my paint/body shop weld the holes and re-paint the trunk. I think it cost me $200-250. It was well worth it if you ask me.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to wait a while and check with work and the wife before I commit. But my birthday is in late August... I'll just have to tell my wife for my birthday I want to take a trip to Alabama.

Thanks, everyone for the compliments. Here is the closest to a rear shot I have right now. I'll take a whole bunch of pics this weekend and I'll make sure to get a straight-on rear and side shot for sure.
I was thinking about doing mine with the GT350 stripe and the tribar logos. Looks like you beat me to it. I even ordered Michigan plate # 06gt350.

Your car looks great!!

OMG, Ian. :worship: :worship: :worship:

I think you've settled for me what I'm doing with my car, man. I love the GT 350 stripe with the pony emblem. The hood scoop looks perfect from the side. The chin - painted body color - looks aggressive.

Beautiful. That MG is just too.

Nice, man. Nice.

I had a 66 GT350 clone. I caught the Roush hood scoop resemblence early on.

I am working on a billet grill that would sit back farther without the honeycomb, the way it should. Will also trim it with argent paint and chrome to look like a 66 grill.

I am planning charcoal LeMans stripes and side stripe.

Of couse a convertible will need the light bar. And what Shelby clone would be complete without sequencals?

I am also liking the Shinoda front spoiler and will have to have a Hurst chrome shifter with the white ball.

It's a good thing I have a wait ahead to get the car. I will need the additional interest to pay for all the extras.

Thanks a lot!

So, you want to go the GT350 route now? I like that idea a lot... but that would mean twin 'Shelby' stripes instead of the single stripe. I went for the GT350 tribute... and used cues from '65-'70 GT350's. The pony badges and single hood scoop from '65 & '66, the ducktail from the '67 & '68, and now the chin spoiler from '69 & '70. I think they all come together pretty nicely. I just need some nice 1/4 louvers (probably MRT) to finish her off.

The chin spoiler makes the cars stance real aggressive... especially from the side. It gives it a nice rake that flows much better than stock IMO.

Thiat all sounds really good. The '65 and '66 GT350's are probably my favorite of any Mustang. Now, you just have to wait to get your car.

Well, actually, I'll probably do it a little different - most likely no 350. I'm not going to stripe my ride down the center. If I do anything, it'll be something like a Mach 1 stripe. On the rocker panel stripe, maybe just "GT" and replace the GT emblem with the running pony.

But I am going to keep the chin body color (I agree - it gives exactly the look this stang really needs, in terms of aggressiveness).

I may do a C-stripe, but I'm leaning toward rocker panel. Then I just need to figure out the rear end (body color spoiler or black? Spoiler or ducktail?)

I almost think it'd be cool to go full-on for a Mach 1 look with rear louvres and so forth, but don't really see that happening.

Anyway, we'll see. But I really do appreciate seeing the side shot - that's exactly the profile look I'm going for, regardless of any small differences I might make.

Very nice. I'm liking the chin spoiler more and more. Your car is just killer and was a large part of my decision to go grey (and I'm really happy now that I've seen Tungsten in person and it IS actually grey) instead of black.

I'm leaning towards black Shelby stripes on mine and a real roll bar as opposed to a light bar. I'm also pondering black deep dish bullets, SS ducktail, RK Sport California Dream hood, and maybe Xenon fender scoops.

A lot of my plans are up in the air as I want to see what comes out of SEMA this year (especially from SS).

These are all great ideas. The fun part is making your ideas reality. I don't know what is more fun... making all the mods and watching it all come together, or having the finished car at the end and enjoying it.
