Has anyone "made" a Shelby fake gas cap w/GT emblem in the center? Can this be done?

 

As far as I know, the center portion on the GT one can be removed. You'd need to use some kind of adhesive or JB Weld to put it back together, but I would assume the Shelby one would be the same. Wanting the brushed finish? Another option would be a brushed faux door from SHR.

 

Yes, I like the brushed finish. The SHR stuff is nice, but not "factory" looking enough for the look I'm going for.

 

not exactly sure what you are talking about, but they sell the shelby logo for the fake gas cap.

I want the brushed finish like a GT500 (instead of the bright chrome), but the stock GT script instead of the cobra logo; if that makes sense.

 

They used to have one at partscheap.com as late as last weekend. I was looking at it. It was satin silver/brushed finsh with the GT emblem in center. I looked tonight when I saw this thread and its not there anymore. You might email them to see if they can still get it. I swear it was there.

I think that's just a cover that slips over your existing cap. I had my eye on that but I really don't like Scott Drake stuff. Not very good quality IMO.

 

Not sure I am a big fan of this upgrade..... but I like the look of the stock gas cap.

Please post pictures when you are done...

 

I tired placing that Scott Drake cover on and it had a gap.So I just stuck the ol' snake cover on.I love the flat gray finish.

 

Sounds like the Scott Drake cap isn't well received. I'll need to think about this...
