Love the scoop, Love the hood, can't stand the placement on the pins either.
I would have to change that part.

That is a nice looking shaker. Post some pictures of under the hood and how it attaches etc. Is the hood painted to look like it has a rise in it or does it really have one? As for the hood pins I think that is the location that most people are using you just have the twisty type that makes it look different.

Need more info on who it works. i.e. where's the filter? under the scoop? It does look fantastic.

Usually the air is directed to the air box - where the stock filter does the job, or a cone filter is installed. As far as I know, there is no filter within the Shaker itself.

The Fang unit (in the pics above) actually ducts the air through channels in the special hood to the air box. So the Fang system consists of the Shaker and hood. There are two ducts, one on either side of the Shaker - one is visible in the pic, just to the left of the Shaker. They transfer the air through the hollow channels (when the hood is closed).

The CDC Shaker (see pic below) uses the factory hood and has special ductwork (tubes) that direct the air from the rear of the Shaker over to the air box.

Details of how this shaker were posted a while back. It just puts air into the engine compartment. It does not direct air directly to the airbox.

I like where this shaker is better than CDCs but I don't like the fact that it doesn't not direct air straight to the airbox

I talked to Proglass this week and if I remember correctly, the Shaker and hood are about $1200, plus paint cost. So probably in the $1500 range. Now, if you don't mind parting with your old hood, you may be able to sell it for a few hundred dollars and recover some of your investment.

CDC is about $800, but you have to cut your existing hood.

I e-mailed them and was told $1249 for the hood and shaker. If you figure in the CDC price for the shaker, that's only $449 for the hood, which is not bad. It doesn't come with, or require. the twist pins, but they would look pretty cool if they could be moved outboard a bit. It also doesn't come with, but does require, a K&N style CAI. The e-mail that I received implied, but did not come right out and say, that the products were available now, but on a two week wait. Anyone have a good idea of what the stock hood is worth? Hey, what happened to the windsheild washer squirter thingys?

The value of the stock hood came up in our converstation, and he said it was around $600 - $650...

I don't know if a body shop would give you anything for it. It would be interesting to see.

According to past CDC products, the company does offer a shaker system for the 99-04 v6 Mustangs, but I think they will eventually come out with one for the 05's as well. Only time will tell.
