Scrolling text 3rd brake light

Somewhere in one of the mustang forums I came accross a URL to a vendor who sells a LED replacement 3rd brake light for several different cars including mustangs that you can put text on. I lost the URL and I can only remember that it ran about $105. Does anyone have a current URL to this device? Several web searches have only turned up generic 3rd brake lights and not what I remember finding.

TIA

Sounds like something JCWhitney would have.

I can't find it right now... but I know what you are talking about. The company that was selling them was also trying to sell the idea and company to someone that was willing to market and sell them. The website was bland and finding the part was difficult. I have found generic scrolling brake lights but the one you are talking about was specifically for the 05+ Mustang.

This is not it... but it is as close as I can find right now. The concept is the same but the brake light was specifically designed to fit the 05+ Mustang.

That sounds like it. I remember that the home page was for some other car but if you searched their applications, they had one that fit in the Mustang OEM location.

David, have you ever found me to be at a loss for words. I liked the fact that it would flash quickly 3 times then stay on. I thought "GO GATORS" would be appropriate as I have found that quite a few vinyl people won't do college logos as it infringes on the schools' copyrights.

I know it was close to shift change, but did you have to run mutual aid on that signal-4 this morning on the 528?

I figured you wanted to change the text on the fly, now that would be awesome.

This is as close as I can find. The brake light is on an EVO. Still looking.

I must ask are those legal? Dont get me wrong that is one of the best ideas i have heard of in a long time but it seems like if you got rearended or something the person could easily blame it on the words flashing across your taillight.

There was a place in OK that sold college logo inserts but I forget the name.

We have to be careful here in FLA with license plate frames. If they cover the state's name, they are illegal and you can get a ticket. Volusia County just to our north has issued quite a few tickets on this issue. On my tag the LED display would cover my beloved "Marine Corps", not my first choice. See sample below.

I understand I was thinking more along the lines that maybe you could mod it to fit in the 3rd brake light as the LED part seems like it would.
