Ah-HAAAA!!!!
Looks like I gotta follow your lead again mah man!

Double sided tape and leave the center portion open - gotcha - about what??

Couple inches???...

I left about a foot open in the middle.
Take your cues off the cowl and leave it open where it opens up in the middle.
I picked up the rubber strip with the tape installed from PePboys. It had about 15'-20' of the stuff for $25 or so. I plan on useing the rest for another project. Maybe you can find a smaller strip for less.
The only thing I haven't done to the hood now is install the insulation back on the underside. I do want to add this back. Still thinking on that one. You have to cut out the area over the air box. Have any of you done this yet?

Oh so you didn't reuse from the old hood and just tape it - is the tape-backed insulation you refer to in the aisle? It isn't made by 3M is it?..

No my underhood insulation is still on the stock hood - I go back and forth about reintalling that - I'd like to but I don't really wanna punch anymore holes in the hood..... playing it by ear for the time being....

I HAVE to say, this hood really pulls the car together - I get MORE looks now with people pulling up just past me and looking back.... Its crazy!

Yeah I can't wait. This time next week, the hood will be installed. Let the good times roll...

And thanks for the pointers about the strip in the back of the hood. Definitely something I'll look at when we get the car back...

I E-mailed you some shots of my pins.
Those look short for this hood.
Also they go in at the angle of the hood. I don't know if the ones you have need to be perpendicular to the Radiator bracket.
My pins are about 2 3/4" from the top of the bracket to the pin hole and 3 1/8" to the top of the pin. This hood is think in this location.

Glad to see you got the hood pins now. I love the turn key style. Looks like they came with carbon fiber stickers/vinyl for the top? That should blend in with the black to make it a lot more subtle.

BTW...my name has officially changed to "S197 GT". Oh Yeah!!!
