Retro Aftermarket Hood
I think that the 67-68 hood with the turn signal indentations was really cool. I'd like to see a modern adaptation of that hood for the '05, I think that would really set it off. I wonder is any of the aftermarket companies will provide one?
What do you guys think?

Well..my computer won't save JPEG images for some reason so here is a link:

My issue with aftermarket hoods is that the new mustang has an aluminum hood for weight purposes.
It's going to be darned hard for an aftermarket company to acheive the level of fit and finish in the typical fibreglass offerings, and meet the weight of the new hood as well.

That is a very good point. Hopefully CDC will come out with a shaker hood system, where you cut a hole in the existing hood (where there seems to be a cutout already in pics of the inside of the stock hood) so that you can still have the lightweight aluminum hood.

I second that, the '05 is begging for a shaker hood scoop.

And maybe it could turn into a huge wing, and the car could fly, and shoot lasers, and...
IMO, a glass roof is just waiting to be broken. The only easier way to break into a car than a glass roof would be a convert. with the paper roof (screw driver in, your cd player is gone).

CDC will be receiving my $$ first. Shaker, quarter and rear window louvers and hopefully a duck tail.

I want the same things you want, this could get interesting.
I think 3DCarbon made an extractor hood much like the '67-'68 Mustangs. It also kinda looks like the '04 Saleen hood or the current '04 Cobra hood (only with smaller openings).
Check the SEMA show pics.
I wonder if it's functional?

It looks as if the ford engineers had some kind of open roof in mind. And if not it has plenty structural support for glass roof or sun roof. And the weight should not be of any concern. As for theft there is already 6 different glass locations on the car, side windows for example, 1 more will not make a difference.

I still havent figured out how you do a glass roof and still have the structural support. Plus the weight of the roof raises the cg dramatically.
