Removing Stock Spoiler
Ok...I should have known better, but I thought that just removing the 4 odd bolts that are holding the stock spoiler on would be all she wrote...but nooooooooo. That **** adhesive or whatever it is...I can't really tell.
How do you get the spoiler off with that stuff holding it on and not messing up the trunk?
Thanks

Yes...I've read the same. A heat gun, dental floss or fishing line, and gloves. It's held on with 4 bolts and double sided 3M tape, or equivalent.

make sure it is a strong alcohol and do not forget to wax that part of the car when done cause using that takes some layer of previous wax off, i usally use a 70% isyolpheral (sp?) instead of the normal 50%

Plastic putty knife got mine off. It was a biatch. But WAIT! It gets better because once you get that spoiler off then you get to rub for about an hour with some "goof off" or similar to remove the adhesive from the truck lid! The whole time while rubbing you worry that your scratching your paint.
I was lucky, I didn't casue any scratches. If you use a plastic body shop putty knife be sure to try and seperate at the spoiler side. In other words don't take the putty knife and just start pushing in and out on your trunk lid. Try to cut it from the bottom of the spoiler mounts.
What worked for me with the left over adhesive on the trunk lid was to let small drops of the "goof off" soak into the adhesive then just rub it with soft cotton cloth. Keep the surface wet with the "goof off" to prevent rubbing when its to dry at the surface. Keep it wet to avoid scratching.
Good Luck
