I was a little bored today, so I decided to scratch another thing of my "To Do" list. I removed all the stickers from the car. Thank you Ford for using a static cling instead of something sticky for the side window "Built with pride" sticker. The sticker TST put in came out easily too.

The hard part was removing the air bag warnings from the visors. I tried the cloths iron and wet rag technique. It didn't seem to be working, and I about gave up, but I gave it one more try with more heat.

I have to warn anybody who tries it, go slow with the heat. There is a narrow range where it will work. Too cold, and it won't peal, or the glue stuff will just peal away from the sticker (VERY bad), too hot, and the glue will melt into the cloth, and leave a residue. I had a couple spots where there was residue, but I got the rag nice and wet, and put the iron on again, and most of it disappeared. Not sure if the glue went with the rag, or the glue was forced down into the material.

Not sure if this will help anybody, but the iron I used has a heat setting of 1-8 or something. 1-3 is not for steam, then 4 and up is steam. I used level 3.

Here's a before and after: [attachmentid=19665] [attachmentid=19667]

Joan...er....John - a blowdryer works great - you don't even have to remove the visors - just heat and peel at the same time - mine came right off with no residue!

JK buddy - your new sig pic - is that your wife/g-friend - she's a looker

I removed my window stickers also, the company that did my undercoating put a few "protected by" stickers on it. I took those off for a cleaner look once the tint was put on.

I used an iron too. I know what you mean about the glue seperating from the sticker. I had a spot on the passenger visor that had the glue stay, but the paper is gone. So you can see it at angles. Oh well.

Its funny, I see swingle is posting again. Funny part is every thread with his new avatar has a funny comment. I made mine on another thread already.

You guys asked for a bigger picture, so I thought I'd do you all a favor. And maybe I wanted to see a bigger one too. And if this is your wife or girlfriend, John... I apologize for this in advance.

Man, I wish I had heard about the hair dryer method. I'm surprised it gets hot enough. Oh well, it done, and looks good.

I did the hairdryer method last night. Easy 5 minute project. Decals came right off. The drivers side cloth stretched a bit though. Doesnt look bad, but it did. No glue residue at all. Very easy and looks a million times better when the visors are down.

Thanks for the idea!

How long do you put the hairdryer on? Is it extremely hot to the touch when it is ready to peel off?

Good question. For those who have used ther hairdryer, do you put it on very hot, or just warm? And for how long? I don't want to overdo it and melt the adhesive into the fabric.

You could always just add this: Visor Sticker for Mustang

They come in every color V6 & GT. I thought they were cool. But Im sure that you wanted NO STICKER vs any other kind. But wanted to share anyhow!
