Rear Window Louvers Installed

Almost done with my mods. Finally got around to installing my rear window louvers. Next month will be the Shaker scoop & then I'm done.(Honest!) These are the Vista brand, same as the MRT ones. Satin black aluminum. Visibility is not an issue, you can hardly see them in the rear view mirror. Install took about 2hrs. I mounted the pads & waited a day to hang the louvers.

That looks absolutely sick!, now I am so glad I just ordered mine. where did you get yours? what is the differnce in price between Vista and MRT? the ones i ordered were 400. were they pretty easy to install? do you have any more pics, I have a torch red as well, with the honey comb panel , and the boss C stripe like you have, so your car looks very similar.

Question. I think I've got the same rear black-out pieces that you've got. Did you paint them a satin black finish? And when you first got them were they a glossy black acrylic see-through plastic?

And your car looks perfect by the way.

These louvers are marked as Vista as the manufacture, I believe but don't have any evidence that is where MRT actually gets there's from. They are identical to the ones sold by MRT.
I got my set off a guy on ebay, ended up paying 300 + shipping, they were brand new in the box, flawless. Haven't seen any more on there since then. Bought them about 2MO ago.
MrMojo, I have the tailight bezels from Moss Mustang. They are/were a dark smoked acrylic,I painted the inside of them before installing.
05 Blackbeauty & Yellow05, the Vista & MRT are both 399 retail.I'll take a few more pics tomorrow. I have one more before I put on the C-stripes.
Yellow05, post some pics, would like to see yours as wll.
Thanks for all your comments, I know I've got the best ride in town & I'm really enjoying this car after 23yrs since my last Stang.

Nice louvers! Wish I still had mine. They were just stolen from the parking lot on Saturday when we were at a local CA-Mustang Club meeting while we were having lunch at BJ's in Roseville, CA. No more louvers for me ,gonna have the windows tinted all around tomorrow. At least the punks didn't damage the car and we're keeping an eye out for a late model red stang with taped on louvers!

I think you need to paint the wing or swap it for a 69/70 style. Maybe paint the GT emblems on the side to match the stripes too.

I love the way those louvers look. If I get some I may have them painted to match the car.

3?
1. MRT markets a 2 piece louver and a single piece, what are the advantages/disavantages of each?

2. Do they rattle when driving at high speed?

3. How secure are they? The last thing I need is for it to blow off while I'm blasting down the autobahn.

Big Poppa,
1. The 2-piece were to ship easier & cheaper.Haven't seen any 2-piece in person so can't comment otherwise.
I'd have to assume the 1-piece would look better.
2. I've no rattle at all. I have heard a comment or 2 that the welds have broken after time where the slats are welded to the 2 center pieces. I'll deal with that when/if it happens.
3. Fastest I've had mine since installing the louvers- 80mph. Still there. Can't comment on 100+ speeds. I don't feel like paying the ticket, the police watch me close enough when I go by @ legal speeds, not gonna push my luck...LOL. I haven't been 20 for quite a few years now.
Overall , I'm liking them, time will tell on how well they hold up.
