I think the fact that those pics were shot later in the day and are in the shade makes a difference. I think in direct sunlight they would be more noticeable.

I think I would get a set of these for my D2S retrofit in spring, maybe put a switchback cob board behind that single gill. If only they had a clear lens over the whole thing like a normal unit

Thanks for this, that's very helpful.

I really like the designs without the plain clear lense giving that sunken in look. It's a shame nowhere else sells these Raxioms anymore. 🙃
