Hello everybody,

I've been thinking about adding racing stripes to my torch red 2005 convertible V6, but I'm not sure about a couple of things:

1- I prefer white stripes, but wouldn't it look awkward with the black stripes with the Mustang word on the sides? Also, my car has a black interior. I'm thinking about going with black stripes for that reason.

2- Considering it's a convertible, what do u guys think would look better: 2 stripes or one wide stripe with thin outside trim?

Any help/opinion is welcome.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I have a torch 'vert, and have been debating stripes for a while, and like you, white would be my first choice.

I don't think the black interior matters, but you do NOT want to put white top stripes on a car with black side stripes. That would be hideous...

If you go for white, you'll need to resign yourself to pulling the black side stripes off (I already did this on mine, because I didn't care for the style of the factory tape stripe) You can always add white side stripes.

I think either stripe style looks great. I was thinking maybe the wide center with narrow outers (aka "super snake" style) for mine, as it's more uncommon.

Thanks!

One question: How did you remove the side stripes and did it leave any marks?

Cheers

M.

Just peeled 'em right off on a warm day, and no marks at all.

Me too. The only problem I see is that the top is black. I've seen TR cars with black stripes and I just don't like it as much. I can't decide what to do about the stripes.

One alternative that I've seen and have been considering is a Mach 1 Style paint scheme. I allready installed a blackout panel on the trunk lid between the lights and it looks great.

I've seen quite a few cars with black tops and white stripes. I don't think there's a clash there, as the top obviously has a much different finish/texture. Besides, ideally the top should only be up when it's parked
