A question or two about anyone who's done the Shelby conversion>>

1) Did you paint the front chin spoiler?

2) Did you buy the less expensive GT/CS rear bumper cover? And if so, what did you use to paint the lower sides with to match the lower center (between the exhaust tips)? Or did you paint the entire lower panel (wheel to wheel) including between the tips?

3) If any of these parts were painted, what was used to prep the rather rough texture?

I've either received (or ordered) all the parts to do this and my bumper covers will be painted this Saturday. I've got to know before then how to tackle these parts. Thanks guys!

well i've not done the conversion but i do know that the Shelby and GT/CS rear are the same piece and come in matte black so you just don't have the sides painted to make it look like the Shelby's rear.

Just out of Curiosity how much are they trying to charge you to paint your front bumper cover? I was quoted $525 if I drove the car down with the bumper cover on, they take it off, paint it, and put it back on.

1 did not paint the chin spoiler

2 no used gt500 bumper, just painted the sides. Friend just sanded slightly on the sides, you can't even tell that there was a texture.

My bumper came primed grey on the sides and only black where the rear diffuser is.
