I am looking to replace the factory spoiler and just realized that I am going to have to do something with the factory holes. My question is there any other options out there to cover the holes up besides re-painting the trunk or buying CDC"s ugly hole deletion kit.

I would also appreciate if you guys knew of any aftermarket spoilers that use the factory mounting holes?

Thanks

You might want to go with the CDC and try getting plugs from

http://www.bumperplugs.com/

They might make something that can cover the spoiler holes. Call them and ask. They make bumper plugs, so I'd think spoiler plugs would be similar.

IMHO - I had a Street Scene Duck Tail Installed (wanted the stock third break light). It cost me to have the holes welded, and then painted but - you'll be much happier if you do. You could go the Roush wing route - it uses the holes from the wing. Be careful with companies that say they use the existing holes. When you really get into the details of what that means - you may have reservations. Good luck - drove me nuts trying to figure out the best path forward.

Just a thought, My dealer screwed up and ordered mine with a spoiler. He ended up swapping the trunk out with another car. But he was looking at 250.00(dealer cost) for a new trunk lid, and my body shop was going to paint it for 340.00. So paying full price, you might end up dropping 700 bucks for the set up. Don't know how much to fill in the holes..not sure if you will really like it that way.

The cervini's Ducktail spoiler utilizes the factory holes, and it's GORGEOUS! Leaves the 3rd brake light in place too, unlike the CDC one.

Hey Moondog,
Can you give some details on having your spoiler holes patched?
Who? How much? That sort of thing.
I have had a range of quotes from $350 to $450 for welding them closed and painting.
Thanks for the info.

I just installed my 3dCarbon Ducktail. Although I did not have a factory spoiler to start with, the 3dCarbon dt will cover the existing factory spoiler holes. Just an idea.

That looks awesome Steve! I have ordered the same ducktail for my convertible. Could you post more pics of your car? Specifically a rear view, rear 3/4, and front 3/4 so I can see how it flows with the lines of the car?

These are the only other ones I have at the moment. If you would like different ones, I can shoot em when the sky clears up.

I installed a Roush. It utilized the factory holes, and you need to drill two new ones for the side parts. A templete is included and its stright forward. 3m tape is also used.

That 3dCarbon Ducktail is sweet. I have always like it but it seemed like it was never going to be released. Went with the CDC and have no regrets but I DO like the 3dCarbon!

3D just became one of the best looking spoilers in my opinion, and the fact it covers the factory holes is nice.
