Putting a v6 bumper cover on a GT

Is it possible to put a v6 bumper cover on the GT? I really want to use the pony package grille. I know it goes the other way, but no one seems to do this

Some of us like the pony package corral and fogs better than the GTs huge fogs without the corral and bezels. I would do the same thing as well, if there was better aftermarket support for chin spoilers on the V6 facia.

Ditto. i think the Gt lights look like rally lights that belong on the subaru. Plus I really like the pony grille, it goes with the stang better IMO.

Check out 3d carbon's chin spoiler for the V6, its gorgeous, yet no one seems to get it Go to their website, go to mustang styling /V6 convertible. I have to run a front tag so I actually like the V6 facia's cutout better. With your car Danny the pony grille would look fantastic.

I think that's a great idea.

I guess it would be the opposite of putting a GT bumper on a V6. I think all you will need to get besides the bumper cover is the V6 inner wheel well skins.

I wanted the pony package grille before my car was ever delivered, then figured out it would not swap. I made my own instead.

Here is a render I did where I placed a GT bumper over a V6 with the pony grill. I admit it looks better and is what ford should have offered. How much different is the V6 grill? I know V6 owners who have installed the GT grill in their stock bumper.

From what I've read, it's pretty difficult to make a GT grille fit in a V6 bumper.

If you look at the V6 bumper, there is a raised area right where the grille rests, as if they felt the need to purposely make the two non-interchangeable. other then that(and a few less mount tabs), the opening is identical.

agree

I agree, plus you have to modify or change your fender liner because the v6 bumper used a shorter fender liner.

I thought the distance of the actual grille was different.

Guys that want to trade, I really don't wanna have to paint the thing so Vista blue would be the color. Also I have a pretty bad scar on the edge of the bumper

To everyone else... Thanks for all the info, I didn't realize the fender wells were different and the limited access to ppl who make the chin spoiler as I definetely want one eventually.

The big difference is that the GT grille is more triangular in the corners. The overall size is pretty much the same but the GT grille tends to push the dividers ( the pieces between the grille and headlights) out of position.
