Question Proposed Retro Look

I am planning a huge makeover for the car soon. I am trying to decide on the final Retro look. I have the Cervinis Pedestal Wing, Cervinis Type 2 Duck Tail spoiler, and the Cervinis side window covers. I have the CDC Foose hood and I am wondering if I should look at adding a hood scoop to it to finish off the retro 69-70 Boss look.

Here are some pictures I am using as reference from a European Mustang U69

I like the agressive hood scoop pictured here. I am thinking of doing the hood blackout like in the picture, but the wife is saying that it is too much black on the hood.

I am going to fill in all the side emblem holes, and the holes from my Roush wing. Smooth out the rear trunk panel and put on a retro rear emblem from the 63-73 era.

I want to get all the necesasary painting done at once, so that everything matches properly, that is why I am trying to decide this. Once the car gets painted, I am not doing anymore exterior work to it!

What do you think?

I am not a fan of the double spoiler look, but everything else seems to flow well including the hood scoop... Which I have considered for my car.

My first inspiration was pictures of Cervinis white B2 car. I am using some of their paint techniques to make the duck tial flow better with the body lines. I am also going to smooth out the back of the duck tail spolier removing the 3rd brake light. I installed the CDC high mount brake light last weekend in preparation of doing that. This way the back looks better. I am thinking of putting the MUSTANG letters back there and they will fit better without that darn brake light.

I love the dual spoiler look. It is what I am after with the 69-70 look.

I just want to be sure of the hood scoop.

To me it just looks out of scale for the smaller hood of S197 models where it looks fine on classic cars. That is part of the reason I just went with the 07-09 factory-style hood scoop painted gloss black. I did not consider the 2010-12 factory style scoop because it looks too wide, too long and ruins the look of the power bulge in the hood.

That hood needs a "Shaker". I do love that Boss look, did back when and still do today.

If you're going for the Mach I look, that Mustang is way too low!

You need some ground clearance to really be retro!

I would agree with that but with the near impossibility of running anything smaller than 16" wheels without brake modifications and the difficulty of finding white raised letter tires, it's tough to complete the 'retro' look. I am running the FRPP k springs which gives a nice stance but not the more modern 'slammed' look.

I think you did an excellent job at giving it the retro look but not going overboard. It looks amazing!

I guess some get the look and some don't. The idea of going old school is a personal preference thing. I personally think the look is awesome and that's why I attempted it on mine. It's your car and your wallet. Do what you want to do.

it looks nothing like old school tho. Its just a bunch of modern day product glued onto the car.

That hood scoop is WAY to big to be non-functional IMO. The duck tail would be cool if it was grafted into the body so it flows better.
