Before jumping on the bandwagon and rounding up the guys with shotguns and pickups understand that things posted should be taken with a grain of salt until proven. This is misinformation and not what the vendor actually said. IF that was the case then yes...there would be an issue but the message was clear and standard procedure when parts are backordered.

In the age of the internet it is all too often easy to string up a vendor just based off someone's post...regardless of whether it is factually correct or not. Sometimes there is justification in complaining but if you do please make sure you have your facts in order and ducks in a row prior to opening fire.

Ok i do apologize for the misinformation. But you did not talk to me, this is info i got from a friend that called you. I do not need these emblems since i already have a pair that i bought back when BFR.com was selling the pairs. The one thing that both of us do not understand is why you have the emblems at $100 but they are on backorder and you can still buy them. The least that could happen is give some info that says they are on backorder and you will be put on a list to get them. If i were to buy them i would like to have them by next week, not 2 or 3 weeks from now depending on how many you get in next week. Again i apologize for my last post but i still stand behind my statement on adding more info that the product is on backorder.

Some vendors have access to parts that other vendors do not.....when it comes to Ford parts PPI is one of those vendors. This comes about from having connections or being priveledged to sources not everyone can tap into. If he wasn't certain he had more coming then he would not even offer them at any price. Also when it comes to parts availability for items that not everyone has you have to just accept that you get them when you can get them...everyone wants them right now but for limited items if you can get them at all, count yourself lucky .

I purchased a set yesterday before I posted the update info here. Within 15 min of me sending the order to them I got a very polite e-mail back from Jim saying that they would not be able to ship them today (Friday) because of the holiday and would ship them early next week.

I would consider this to be very informative. Most web sales companies to not tell you ahead of time if something is on backorder, you find out after in the form of an e-mail.

They may or may not had had an actual set in stock when I ordered mine but I have ordered with them before and been very happy with their service.

You or your "friend" bought nothing so being upset or confused, at least at this time, is a moot point. Others have understood, followed our instructions and will get their orders next week...

Its like i said i love my emblems lol. Its just he wanted to replace his GT emblems with it and when it comes to him he wants his parts within the week if the site says they are available. I should be ordering a set tomorrow so if you stop selling them i can sell them for what we have seen them go for. By the way since i have both of you here, have either one of you been able to find an '84 SVO passanger side outside turnsignal, i am still looking for one.

100.00 for two emblems is ridiculous. I bought a set of the Scott Drake ones, and couldn't be happier. 26.00 EACH. They look like the originals to boot, and fit and cover the holes very well. Plus, I believe they are some sort of metal; they were certainly heavy enough. Just wouldn't give that much for bling, no matter how good it looks.

Absolutely...but if you have a real car that requires them you are stuck...much like many other parts that are limited. If you think those emblems are bad don't ever buy an Anniversary Harley Davidson or you might have a stroke! Shelby wanted those emblems limited...much like Harley does theirs...it helps prevents clones and fakes and that is the primary reason...it's part of the game you have to deal with like it or not. If you don't have an original then by all means don't by original emblems and try to make the car something it is not. Yes, Shelby wants over $100 EACH for those $2 plastic emblems so given that $100 for the pair is a bargain.

Ever price the '93 Cobra Grill insert and pony back in 1999?!? Try over $500 for the plastic insert and $110 for the little running horse!....There are thousands of examples of things that may seem over priced but limited production is that way for a reason and why cars become collectible....it's also why the aftermarket makes knockoff products. You want something else to complain about? Go search for a set of NOS '93 Cobra OR Lightning floor mats...THEN you might have something to cry about . Be thankful you are not trying to restore a Ferrari .

Your package from Performance Parts, Inc. is on its way. You can track it online using this tracking number.
<img alt="" border="0"> U.S. Postal Service:XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The vendor is the next state up, so I expect these in 2 days max.

So, are people able to buy these now. I remember them going off of ebay for $200 a few months ago.

Very nice- sarcam will get you far. LOL. I was just looking for a status update. They were on my SGT years ago, and I didn't feel like buying a crate engine to get a pair of plastic emblems.

I still think these will be released like all the other emblems. Once that happens I think you'll see them at normal prices. I bought a set from PPI for my Dad for fathers day. He loved them on my car but I wasn't gonna pay $300.00 for them.

I personally think that these should be released to the Ford dealers first. After all, they were installed on new Ford cars, and as such, dealers should be the first to be able to offer a replacement.

Really? What about the sill plates?
Note that "Ford" doesn't appear anywhere either.
